Located about 3 miles in from Hwy 395 this park is very quiet at night. The park has 3 tiers, the first being closer to the office, the second tier down below the first tier and the last tier is at the bottom near a meadow area. We stayed in the second tier and they were all pull throughs on gravel. We thought if we ever went back again we would pick the bottom tier (they are all back-ins) since there were trees and grass in between the sites. The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them about the area. Water pressure was low but adequate, power and sewer were very good. Our cell phone and Air card (Verizon) had a very low signal so we used our antenna/signal booster) and we were able to use our dome satellite as well. This is a no frills park and was a very good overnight stop for us.

We stay here when we’re in the Reno area or passing through. It’s a very nice park and well maintained. While there we couldn’t believe how many people had dogs around us. One of our neighbors had 5 dogs in their coach!! Before we left we noticed that one of the rows of sites had a sign that said NO DOGS. Wish we had known before hand as it was very busy in the front row since the dog walking area was almost in front of our site. Dogs passing each other were constantly barking no matter if it was day or late at night. This park is not child friendly as there’s nothing for them to do. Water, power and sewer were very good and we had a very good signal for our cell phone, Air card (Verizon) and dome satellite. The Wi-Fi at the park worked very well too. The Casino is next to the park and we like the atmosphere there over the larger casinos where it’s so loud you just want to get out as quick as possible. We’re not big gamblers, but we do play video poker at the bar for about an hour and then grab something to eat in their cafe. There’s a Chevron Station at the base of the park that carries diesel and propane.

This state park isn't one we would go back to. It has very thick, talc-like dirt. The sites are too close together, it's more like being in a RV park. No privacy what so ever. Thank goodness the road and spurs were paved. We had good water pressure, power and sewer. Park personnel were friendly along with the hosts. It's close to town and the Deshutes river. Aircard and cell phone had a decent signal but couldn't get our dome satellite in, had to use the portable dish. We were in B loop #17 which was close to the solar showers and restroom. Site was not totally level but didn't have any problems with our levelers. This would be a good overnight stay and that's about it. Not the most attractive state park in Oregon's State Park system. Reservation system charges $5.00 so our stay per night was $24.50: we stayed for 2 nights and that was enough.

Nice park, well maintained and far enough off of the highway for some peace and quiet. Staff was pleasant but not very familiar with the RV section of the park. We parked in the middle of our site like someone suggested in an earlier review. Doing so also allowed for a place to put our chairs when the sun came around in the afternoon. There weren't very many people in the newer section of the park, most of them were in the older section where they also have more trees. The newer section has palm trees and the sites are asphalt. The older section appears to be gravel sites. This park doesn't have wifi but our Verizon aircard had a good signal along with our cell phone. No trees in our section to interfere with our satellite signal. Water pressure was at 90 lbs, power was good and no problems with the sewer. Site was very wide and long so you won't have to unhook, great for an overnighter. We would stay here again.

RV park is located across the street from Silver Lake. The sites here are close together but we had enough room to put out are awnings and 3 slides. Friendly staff who helps direct you into your site. They don't allow you to just come in and park by yourself. The cafe has good food and they are always busy. The cafe closes at 2pm but there are other places to eat in the village. There are four lakes along the June Lake loop and we've always been partial to Silver Lake when we fished. Mostly rainbow trout and now and then we would hook up with a brown. The pack station is near the park where they offer hourly rides and there are numerous trails to hike. The views are spectacular here, of course we're extremely partial to the area since we lived here for 18 years!! Silver Lake Resort closes on Oct. 15th but the fishing continues on until the middle of November.

This little park was a great surprise. It looks fairly new because the trees are small and the electric boxes are rust free! Grass between the pull-throughs with a picnic table. Very good water pressure, sewer and power. We had cell and air card (Verizon) service as well. No trees to interfere with our dome satellite. Laundry room had 2 dryers and washers and was very clean. The bathroom/shower facilities were very clean as well. The park is well graveled and the road you come in on is paved. This was a great overnight stop for us and if you just want peace and quiet for a few days, this is the spot in the middle of nowhere. We would have no qualms about staying here again, it's a very clean little park.

This year we stayed in one of the back in sites that's located below the main RV park where there are pull throughs. We stayed 3 nights and really liked being below where it's not as busy. Our site was #53, right next to some trees so it kept the sun off the side of the coach. This area is not for big rigs (40' or larger) because you would stick out into the street and you wouldn't be able to park your tow car. Never went into the casino or ate at the restaurant, just kicked back and enjoyed the weather. We found the check in to be fast, efficient, and friendly. The gas station there carries diesel and propane. Still can't get a cell signal here but the Wi-Fi had a strong signal. To connect to Wi-Fi you have to go into internet options and disable your pop up blocker, you can't just temporarily turn it off.

A very nice park in a lovely area of Oregon. There is some road noise during the day but at night it’s very peaceful. Did the covered bridge auto tour one day while there. You can find the covered bridge information on Linn County’s website. Lebanon has a Wal-Mart, Safeway, and other various businesses. We were having a cell phone problem and were happy to find a Verizon Store before we were scheduled to leave. The gal in the park office was very friendly, helpful and efficient. We stayed here over Labor Day and was surprised that they weren’t full. We were on the perimeter of the park where we were unable to get a satellite signal with our dome sat. Used our portable satellite and put it out in the meadow behind our coach. If you have dish network you can hook up to the parks satellite cable. Cell and Aircard service had a low signal, so we used our antenna/signal booster. Internet access is available for a price. The price we paid was based on our week stay. We enjoyed the park and we would go back again.

First let me say the only reason we stopped here was to go and have lunch at The 19 Mile House Restaurant. It, to our disappointment, was closed and for sale. Now, I believe others who stayed at this park must have had a better site then we did. Our site was very narrow and by the time we had our main slide out we only had about 5 feet left for our sitting area. We faced a bushy tree and the sewer/water and cable TV connection utility post. Near the rear of our site there was a really fat bushy tree that took up most of the space for chairs to enjoy what view there was. On top of that we couldn't get our main awning out because the trees were too close. We couldn't wait to get out of this park!! Our Aircard and cellphone, we needed to use our ever faithful antenna/booster because the signal was weak and so was the wi-fi. Water pressure was inadequate but the power was good. We wouldn't go back to Mt. Saint Helen's RV Park again, it just wasn't a very pretty or comfortable park for us.

This was an overnighter so we could go to Costco and Trader Joe's to load up. This place has absolutely no ambiance. It's a huge asphalt parking lot with full hookups, very depressing and definitely not a resort destination! Could not get satellite TV reception. The lady in the office, who was very nice, informed me that they use to get about 90 channels but the cable company cut them down to 29 channels ( Huh?). We think it had something to do with the cable company raising their rates. Some of the sites were not very level with rigs way up in the air. Had a good Aircard and cellphone signal (Verizon) but we did use our booster and antenna to hike up the signal. We would stay overnight again to stock up or maybe even head into Olympia where there is a new Trader Joe's opening soon and a Costco that's just off the freeway.

Nice, clean and well manicured RV Park. We were in a pull through at the front of the park. Long cement spurs (not quite level) with a cement patio and plenty of room for chairs and table. The tables do need to be replaced or sanded. Plenty of room between sites and the water, power and sewer were spot on. The trees in the park are large enough to sit under for shade. We were able to use our dome satellite since the trees aren’t towering high above. We didn’t use the showers so I can’t comment on their current condition. You can hear the trains from the park but they never woke us up during the night. A Safeway and Mall is close to the park (just on the other side of the I-5). Our cell phone and air card (Verizon) had good reception and the parks Wi-Fi reception was very good. The park is located about 11 miles from the 504 which takes you up to Mt. Saint Helen’s. We enjoyed this park very much and would return when in the area.

Spent 2 nights here midweek and the park was very quiet except for the campers in the tent area. Some arguing going on between a couple. Highway noise is noticeable day and night but not so loud that you were disturbed in your sleep. Woke up on the morning we were to depart and found everything soaked from the dew. Took quite a while to get the dirt swept off of our mat and our shoes were caked with dirt. Hubby didn't know he had dirt on the soles of his shoes and it ended up on the carpet. The pool was very nice and clean and the staff was very friendly. The park office is in the gas station which carries propane and diesel. Costco and a new Trader Joe's nearby. Don't expect to get your satellite in, too many beautiful trees.

Since last reviewed they have upgraded the upper section of this park with full hookups including cable TV. The upper sites have 20/30/50 amp. I wouldn't call this area big rig friendly. There are some tight turns and some sites you would only be able to pull straight into. We stayed in one of the lower sites that had electric only #13 (we drove straight in) but were able to reach the water faucet nearby to fill our tank. There are other sites down below that have water, power and cable. There's a dump station in the lower area too . We were able to get our dome satellite in but we had poor cell and air card service until we used our antenna with our signal booster. This is our 3rd time here and it's not our favorite park but it's the closest park to Rosburg where we were visiting friends. We think this park is now overpriced.

We stopped here on our way back into the states. Clean park with good water, power and electric. There's enough room for slides and awnings but the sites are rather close together creating a rather crowded atmosphere! Sites were fairly level and the grounds were well maintained. Beautiful area, with outstanding views but neither my husband nor I thought we would want to spend time sitting outside our coach. Railroad tracks are located across the street from the park and were loud at times, but if the trains were running at night it didn't disturb our sleep. The front of the park has pulls throughs so we didn't have to unhook our tow. We would stay here again as an overnighter.

This is a nice little city owned and operated park about as close as you can get near the water. Located around the edge of their city park, this RV Park has enough room for slides and awnings. Not large sites but you’re not encroaching on your neighbor’s site or visa versa. Sites are back-ins, gravel and not perfectly level. We didn’t have any problems leveling out our motorhome. Site has a picnic table but no fire rings, hurrah! Located in the downtown area, it’s close to grocery stores, Wal-Mart (it’s not a Super Wal-Mart) and other businesses. First come, no reservations which is nice for those of us who aren’t on a schedule when we’re traveling. Good water, power (30 amp) and sewer. Someone commented on the power situation here and I’m sure it was during the big heat wave when the whole Pacific Northwest were having record highs. While we were here we experienced no power outages. Good cell and Aircard (Verizon) reception but almost impossible to get in our satellite TV due to the trees that surround the border of the park. You might be able to get reception near the entrance to the park (on your right) where you’ll see 2 rows of RV sites. We were in the row that is further from the entrance that borders along the other side of the park. Try the sites that are closest to the tent area. Nice walking path or bike path with views of the water. The bathroom/showers, we didn’t use so I can’t comment on them. Both the city park and the RV Park are very busy on the weekend and can be noisy, but during midweek it’s very quiet. We had an enjoyable 9 days here and will be back again when traveling through the area.

We found this City RV Park while exploring the area. It's very close to town yet it has that country feel. The campground host was very informative and friendly. The park is next to the river and it also has river access for fishing and boating. Nice green grass at each site with a fire ring and a paved area for your rig. Full hookups for $22.50 is a great price and it also has high speed internet and cable TV. This is a very attractive park and I wish we had stayed here instead of another RV park where we paid $90.00 more for a week. There is a train trestle that you go under (14') to get into the park and we did ask her about the frequency of trains coming through. She said the tracks are seldom used. We like this park so much I thought I'd take the time to review it even though WE DID NOT STAY HERE.

Kulshan campground is located about a mile in on a good hard packed dirt and gravel road (Baker Lake Ranger District off of hwy 20). This campground has 108 campsites and is located in two loops. It is next to Baker Lake Dam and has a boat-launching ramp. The first loop upon entering the campground has water & sewer (no electric) hookups and is more heavily treed than the second loop. This loop also has a dump station with potable water and a good sized bathroom that has flush toilets. The second loop has fewer trees but they are clumped together. This loop doesn't have sewer or water; it's just dry camping with honey buckets that appear to be new. The price is $15.00 a night or half price($7.50) if over the age of 62. Both loops are the same price with or with out hook-ups. When we arrived midweek there was hardly a soul here but by weekend it was rocking and rolling with loud music and barking dogs that were running around loose. The lake is quite beautiful with a view of Mount Baker in the distance. Kulshan Campground is not a Forest Service campground; it belongs to the power company and has a host that is located in the first loop. This is the only campground on Baker Lake Ranger District that can accommodate any size RV besides Baker Lake Resort that is further up the road. The Baker Resort has some sites with full hookups along with a small general store. Kulshan Campground is like any other Forest Service campground with a table and a sturdy fire pit with a grill along with garbage service. No cell or aircard service (Verizon) here. We were able to use our dome satellite in the second loop. We would stay here again only during midweek.

This is a very large campground divided into 2 loops. A loop is for people holding reservations and B loop is first come. There are 20 sites total that are tent sites only with no hookups. The rest of the sites (100) have 30 amp power and water at each site. The camping spurs are long and paved. Each site also has a table and a fire ring. We thought the sites were awfully close to each other and if everyone had a fire at night we would be choking in smoke. The park is very attractive with old growth oak trees and provides plenty of shade to most sites. The campground is located near the banks of the South Santiam River and some sites are very close to the banks. We saw lots of kids going down to the river with inner tubes. There is a nice large dog park that is fenced in where you can let your dog loose to run. We had cell phone service through Verizon and some of the sites looked as though you could get a satellite TV signal, maybe with a portable dish. We were planning on staying here through Labor Day but decided that this was going to be a very busy park with 120 sites. Next time we pass this way we’ll try it out. Thought this was such a nice park that I would submit it. The parks website is very informative and has good rates for camping. Basic sites are $20.00 or $5.00 for seniors. Hookup sites are $24.00 or $17.00 for seniors. The dump station is located near the beginning of Loop B. We did not stay at this park.

We enjoyed this park very much. The campsites were spaced out enough that there was some privacy. The campground is grass with gravel aprons. Trees are at most sites so you can enjoy sitting under them. We had no problems getting our dome satellite in but the only way to get my Verizon Aircard and cell phone to work was by using our antennas booster, otherwise the signal was too weak. From what I understand, this park has shower facilities somewhere in the park. I also noticed that there's a water spigot located in each loop. No lights in the park to spoil star gazing at night, it was amazing! When driving through the park we noticed a very large T-pee and found out later you can rent it. This is a nice campground, especially after spending a few nights just off the I-90. Peaceful...

This turned out to be a great stop for us. A very sweet couple greeted us at the desk and had us checked in quickly. The grounds were neat and clean, nothing fancy but suited our needs to a T. As stated the I-90 is close by but it calmed down at night. We were really happy to see that this park had a book exchange so I was able to trade off a big sack of books! VERY nice laundry room with 3 dryers and 3 washers along with an ironing board and iron. The laundry room was spotless! Our site wasn’t perfectly level but it wasn’t a problem. Wi-fi had 3 bars and worked fine. We also had a good Aircard and cell phone signal as well with Verizon. No interference for our dome satellite. It appears that there’s propane for sale on site. Perfect over night park, and we would stay here again when traveling through the area.

Called in the morning to see if we could get in for 6 days and I was greeted on the phone with the restaurant's cook. She didn't know if the sites had 30 or 50 amp power and that the owner and manager would be in around 1:30. We arrived around 4pm to be greeted by 2 girls that worked there having an argument in front of the office. Went into the office/store/restaurant to be greeted by the cook and she said the manager still wasn't there. We drove by the site we were given and it turned out to be 110 with electric cords stretched out everywhere with no waterproof boxes. The road was pox marked with pot holes everywhere holding water. We should have know when we drove in and the first thing we saw was a single wide mobile home that was imploding in on it's self. We went back to the office and told her that the site wasn't going to work for us and she looked at us like we were from outer space. All I can say is STAY AWAY!!!! There is a forest service CG just before the "resort". We drove through the CG but couldn't find a site that we could fit in that was vacant. We did not stay here.

We stayed in the first CG, North Shore which is closest to Cody. The pull through is made of asphalt with gravel. The rest of the site is on gravel, weeds and dirt. Not too much maintenance going on here. The sites are close to the lake which is nice. No large trees to interfere with our satellite and we had a decent Aircard and cellphone signal (Verizon). A dump station with drinking water is available. Busy campground and it's too close to the road with road noise all day. We drove to the other campground which is about another 4 miles away (to the west)to see what it was like). We thought that North Fork CG was nicer. There are two loop, one small loop close to the river and the other further away from the river with a view. The sites are situated on grass which was well maintained and it's further away from the highway with less noise. It's out in the open with trees but not enough to not be able to get in a satellite signal. Don't know if their is a cell signal there. This CG also has a dump station with drinking water. Both campgrounds have a lot of first come sites and it wasn't a problem even on the weekend there were sites available. I think next time we'll stay in North Fork.

We had a reservation in Cody to stay at the Parkway RV Park but after checking in and hooking up the power, our hardwired surge protector (Progressive Industries) wouldn't allow the power into the coach. This happens sometimes and we've gotten use to it. So, we called around and found this park which is quite a ways from Cody, I'd guess it to be about 18 miles. There were quite a few sites available so I inquired about using our Passport America. She said no problem except there were no full hookups available. Ended up with 50 amp and water which was just fine. Had a good WIFI connection along with a good signal for our cell phone, Aircard and Satellite since there aren't any trees. Beautiful views in all directions and the park was very quiet at night. The pool which we didn't use looked nice but we thought it was odd to locate it by the highway. Maybe it's a way to draw families in with children. Hubby used the laundry facilities and he said they were clean and I believe he said there were 4 machines. This was a good overnight stop for us and we would return if in the area.

We stayed here on Sun. the day after the 4th of July. We had to replace our DVR receiver for our Satellite and Darrell, the owner, was nice enough to allow us to have the receiver shipped to their park. At one time they had cable TV but when we arrived we saw a sign on the door that said “No Cable TV.” It is the strangest layout as others have mentioned in past reviews. I didn’t see any pull through sites though I guess if there were very few people in the park you could pull into the front of one of the rows. If the park is full how do they get out of their spot? Anyway, it was a nice little spot after spending a very long week dry camping at 8600 ft with rain almost every day. The bathroom was clean with shower curtains being used as stall doors for the shower and toilet area (a first for me). Water, power and sewer were fine. We had to use our portable dish since we were sitting under very large cottonwood trees. Aircard and cell service worked (Verizon) and so did the parks WiFi. This turned out to be a good overnighter for us. We would stay here again.

We stayed here last year in Sept. after the flowers had finished blooming so when we pulled in this year, the flowers in the park were spectacular. The park was still neat and clean and very inviting. One thing that no one has mentioned is the fact charcoal BBQ’s are not allowed nor are braziers. No campfire rings are on the premises so you can sit outside and enjoy the evenings. I wish more RV parks had a ban on campfires since most RV sites are too close together. I have to say it was nice to be able to turn off the air conditioners and open up our windows!! This park is geared more towards adults and I have seen very few children here this stay and the past. This is a very quiet park and we'll stay here again.

Nice RV park if you like the campground feel. There was plenty of room for slides and awnings along with enough room for chairs and a picnic table. We were there when the Pacific Northwest was broiling with record heat. The park was full and we didn’t experience a power outage with all of the AC’s going full blast. The laundry room only had one washer and dryer that was pretty old but in good working condition. Plenty of fruit and vegetables stands to pick through along with a couple of grocery stores. Nice area to sit by the lake with chairs and benches. This was a nice park, nothing fancy but it was more to our liking than an asphalt park in the broiling heat.

Really funky little rv park in the town of Wallace that's within easy walking distance to the historical district. It’s not much to look at, but everything worked well. The owner was sitting out front and told us to go pick out the site we wanted and then come back and pay him. There’s a mixture of site lengths to choose from. Some of the sites back up to a creek that’s about 8 feet down and if you have small children you’ll want to keep and eye on them. Site aprons are paved and have grass in between each site. There’s plenty of room for slides and awnings. Water pressure was good (60), no problems with the power (30A), and we didn’t run into any problems with the sewer. I’m not sure if they have showers or not but I did see someone walking towards the office area with a towel. Best to call to get more information. This is a first come park, no reservations. The park is within a very high and narrow canyon with lots of trees and we were unable to get a satellite signal. But, we did have cell & Aircard service (Verizon), which really did surprised us. If you can get past the funky, this is a great park to stay in and explore the town. There are quite a few places to eat, along with bars and 1 has a couple of tables outside. I believe that the restaurants name is Smokehouse Restaurant. There are also a number of antique shops to browse around in. You'll find miles and miles of bike trails in this area, more info is available online.* We wouldn’t have a problem staying here again we enjoyed the town. By the way, we were able to use our gps without getting lost. Hope you have the same experience. Our gps took us to the right road but wanted us to drive past the park… http://wallace-id.com/ * Bike trail info: http://wallace-id.com/CdA_trail/index.html

The town of Tonasket has a very small little RV park connected to their information center. The park is located heading north on the 97 across the street from Al’s AIG Market. The sites are very narrow but we hugged the passenger side as close to the electrical box so we could get our main slide out. I don’t know what it would have been like if all the sites had been full. The electrical, sewer and water are on the passenger side at the back of the site. The power (30amp) was good, but the water pressure was at 80 psi so we used our regulator. The site had a sewer hookup but we didn’t use it since we were only staying overnight. On the premises is a dump station ($4.00) and also drinking water. There is a porta potty and garbage dumpster too. This was a plan B since the park we were going to stay in was unacceptable in every way so we were happy to have this to pull into. We’re 38 feet and we had smaller class A’s along with campers parked side by side. There are railroad tracks behind the park but we never heard a train the 17 hours we were there. Fuel prices are much higher in Tonasket so fuel up before you get there if you are planning on crossing into Canada. We were able to use our dome satellite and we had good reception for our cell & Aircard (Verizon). Traffic during the day was heavy but by 10pm the road noise was minimal. We would stay here again as an overnighter.

It is right next to US 25 with truck noise all day and into the night. This off ramp is for the 16 that leads to Yellowstone. Nice sites, fairly level, full hookups, grass between sites, lots of room for slides and awning. Nice laundry facility inside the park's office and it was very clean. While at the park the Cottonwoods were in seed and it was like being in a blizzard, got into everything. Verizon’s cell and Aircard signals came in strong. Had to use our portable dish to pick up sat. signal as we were in lots of trees and we didn’t want to use their cable tv. Power, water and sewer were very good, we didn't have any problems. While we were here we enjoyed exploring the down stairs of the Occidental Hotel with all of the pictures of the early days. Hotel was restored in 2008 and the saloon looks about the same as it did in the late 1800's. This is a very nice clean park that is unfortunately next 2 very busy highways. OK overnighter.

Nice campground with friendly helpful owners. We were in the lower section of the park where the sites were narrow back ins, where the upper section of the park has pull throughs and back ins that appear to have more space between each site. Site was not totally level but we had no problems leveling our motorhome. We had a full hookup site and everything worked just fine. Water pressure is at 80 psi and you will need a pressure regulator. No problem getting our dome satellite in and we also had a good signal with Verizon for our Aircard and cellphone. Wifi signal was very weak and was unable to connect. The laundry room was immaculate, older machines but very clean. Park is about 30 miles to Devil’s Tower and it was a beautiful drive. There are places to eat nearby along with a grocery store and gas stations.

Very nice clean campground with 30/50 amp service along with water & sewer. It was a great place to stay while we waited to get a new windshield and change our residency over to SD. There are no trees here or a bathroom/shower but if you are self contained it shouldn’t be a problem. The campground is located between the camping supply store and pasture land. You get off the I-90 at exit 40 or 44 and head along the service road (north side of the 90) to Jack’s Campers. There is traffic noise during the day but at night it’s pretty quiet. Haven’t heard a train here so that’s a plus!! Good power, water pressure and no problems with the sewer. Pull through sites and road in the park are gravel while back in sites are on mowed grass. Beautiful views of the Black Hills along with green pastures. Don’t know what it would look like mid summer…… Verizon Aircard, cell phone, and dome satellite had a good signal. There is free WIFI here with a strong signal. We were in site # 24 (pull through) which is close to one of the cabins where the WiFi antenna appears to be. $15.00 a night is a steal!! We would stay here again.

Beautiful State Park with lots to see and do. Wide strips of grass in between sites with plenty of room for awnings and slides. 30/50 Amp service and never encountered problems with a full campground. There are sites along the creek but they appear to be for tents, tent trailers or small C-Class. We were in E-18 and were able to get a signal for our dome satellite. No cell or Aircard reception (Verizon) except at the park entrance. This is a large state park and there are lots of very nice campgrounds scattered through out the park. Center Lake campground is first come and there are sites for tents and rv’s, although this campground isn’t big rig friendly. We’re 38’ and we saw a few sites that would have worked. The only reason I mention this campground is that there was hardly anyone there on Sat. There are four lodges within the park that offer dining, and they have gift shops inside. There is a grocery store within the park too. Great wildlife loop that was very enjoyable and we saw turkeys, deer, pronghorns prairie dogs and buffalo. On the 16A heading towards Mt. Rushmore we encountered wild burros that were begging carrots and apples from park visitors. Park brochure (pdf): http://www.sdgfp.info/Publications/Parks/Tatanka.pdf Campground Maps (pdf) http://www.sdgfp.info/Parks/CampMaps/CusterSP.pdf The price of the campsite does not reflect the park pass that you need. I think it was around $18.00 (rv & toad) for 7 days and if that’s not correct hopefully someone will correct me in the next review. There are a number of picnic grounds and lakes to wet your line. We would love to return and spend a week next time

Sitting Bull CG is located in the Bighorn Mts. at approximately 8,600 feet. Located 43 miles west of Buffalo, Wy or 20 miles east of the town of Ten Sleep. There are some steep grades but they do have passing lanes and turnouts. Nice CG with sites that average 16 x 60 ft. and can easily accommodate any size RV. Vault toilets that were cleaned daily. There is water in the cg with some of the faucets threaded. All of the sites have fire rings with a grate and large picnic tables. We were in site #23 (some sites have more sun than others) and we were able to get our dome satellite in. No cell or Aircard service here but we were able to use our cell phone in the town of Ten Sleep which is 20 miles to the west. Beautiful drive, you won’t be disappointed! This campground allows ATV’s to be ridden in and out of the campground to the numerous trails in the area. We found the riders to be very courteous when riding in and out of the campground. If you have your Golden Age pass use it, the price is $7.00.. Stock up on food as there are no markets in the area.

An older park on grass with friendly helpful management and accepts Passport America. They offer free DVD movies and have bicycles to use while there. Good power, water & sewer with free Wi-Fi that worked well along with good Verizon cell & aircard signal. Our site was level with a nice picnic table. Good overnight stop.

Wonderful city park with water, power (30 & 50 amp service) right on Big Creek. We don’t know how long you can stay here since it isn’t posted anywhere, although we've been here 10 days so far. Our site is level on a packed gravel & dirt surface with lots of green grass on each side with plenty of room for all of our slides and awnings. This little gem is well maintained by the city and it’s nice to know that the police drive through at night. Wifi is available for $3.95 a day or 7 days for $15.00 and my husband said it works well. There are train tracks very close to the park and it does sound it’s whistle at night although it doesn’t wake us up. Trash cans are conveniently located along the road. A dump station is located on the south side of the bathhouse with very easy access. Verizon Cell phone & Aircard signals were excellent. There’s a market nearby and if you’re looking for a Super Wal-Mart there’s one located in Hayes, 17 miles to the east. You can see it from the I-70. We would gladly stay here again when passing through.

A really beautiful park! Well maintained and very clean. The pond is right out of a Norman Rockwell painting. Sites weren’t quite level but it wasn’t a problem. All sites are 30 amps and you won’t find water at your site. We were in a first come site #60 up the hill and across from our site was a brick building with bathrooms & showers. It also housed a laundry room but we didn’t use it. Also across from us was a water spigot, which made taking on water a breeze. A minus, there was some road noise during the day but at night it was quiet. A plus, there were NO trains!! We had cell & Aircard signals using our antenna and booster and we also had a clear shot for our dome satellite. Don't let them assign a site to you as a lot of the sites have large trees and can block your satellite signal. We would definitely stay here again when passing through. Would have liked to stay longer!

Wonderful rustic campground with pressure water faucets (threaded) and 2 bathrooms spread apart in the campground. We were in site B-7 that was near one of the bathrooms and also had a water faucet across the street from us. Nice roomy pull thru with a picnic table on a cement pad along with a pedestal BBQ nearby. Site was pretty level, gravel/dirt and wide enough for slides and awingings. We had rain and ground absorbed the moisture and didn't leave us in a mud hole. No problem getting our dome satellite in and we were able to get good cell reception but couldn’t use my Aircard even using our booster. Signal fluctuated wildly and unable to maintain a constant signal long enough to connect to any website. Partial view of the tower from our dining table and the trees and meadow were lovely too. Well maintained CG that we really enjoyed. Price reflects the half price for Golden Age Pass. We spent 6 days here and would happily stay here again if in the area.

This is a beautiful park with lots of trees and beautiful lush green manicured grass. We weren't able to use the power as our progressive industries surge protector (it's very sensitive to protect our onboard electronics) wouldn't let the power into our coach. We run into this now and then at some parks but we stayed and just didn't use the power. There are LOTS of trains running day and night so be prepared if you're a light sleeper. I would have given this park a 10 if it had sewer hookups and the power worked. We used this park as an over night stop.

Nice overnight park on the grass (vehicle sits on dirt but you put your chairs out on the grass.) The grounds were clean and the water, power, and sewer were good. Cell & Aircard (Verizon) reception was good also. There are no obstructions to interfere with dome satellites in the pull through sites. Our site was easy to level out. Sites are close together but we were able to put out all of our slides and awning without a problem. No laundry facilities here, just the bare minimum but with FREE Wi-Fi and it worked well. Grocery store is up and around the corner, easy walk from park. It's not the Ritz but it was great for overnight and the price was right!! We would stay again if passing through.

Drove by this "park" and it's right on the road with questionable people living there. According to one of the tenants, some of the sites have power that work and some don't...Some of the sewers work.....and some don't... So, DON'T stop. If you are heading west stay in Ellis at the city park, it's about 17 miles away and well worth the stop and it's only $15.00 with power & water!! We did not stay at this park.

Sites 1 through 8 are full hookups with 50 amp. The rest of the sites are 30 or 50 amp boxes spread out around the campground. Half of the sites are on the reservation system the other half is first come. Had a problem finding a site where the power was working. Sites are pretty level, paved sites and interior road. Water spigots are spread out among the sites here and there. Verizon Aircard and cellphone had a signal and we had no problems getting our satellite in since the trees are small. There's a Safeway in Ogallala where you can load up otherwise you'll have to drive back into town. Electric sites are $17.00 a night and and they charge another $4.00 per vehicle per day so if you plan on staying 4 or more days buy their ANNUAL PASSES at the Visitor Center or at Martin's kiosk. (annual pass for first vehicle is $20.00 and the 2nd vehicle is $10.00) For a daily pass it's $4.00 per vehicle per day. Campground Host can sell you the Daily Pass. We would probably stay here again if passing through. CAMPGROUND MAP LINK: http://www.ngpc.state.ne.us/parks/places/campmaps/maps/lakemcconaughy_thunder.pdf

This park was clean and the girl in the office was very friendly. No problems with power, 50 amp and the water pressure was good. Used the park as a place to stay to do our laundry and restock our pantry. The laundry room had 3 washers and 3 dryers and the room was very clean. There's a Super Wal-Mart in town along with a Safeway. Good cell and aircard signal with Verizon. I have to say that the way they laid out the park sites, it's very weird!! This park was just fine for a 2 day stopover, and we would stay here again. This is a Passport America park.

The only problem we had while here were power surges. The volt meter read 128-131, spiked to 135. We checked out the other campgrounds with electric and found they were all registering the same so we just ran off our solar panels and ran our generator since we didn't have any neighbors near us. The place was deserted. Water pressure was around 90 pounds so we dialed that down. All and all not a bad place, weather was wretched everywhere with a howling wind. We had lunch one afternoon at the Annex Bar & Grill in town and the owner (MO) was nice enough to let me use his WIFI so I could pay some bills. We stayed in Yucca Campground and would stay at the park again if traveling through the area.

Nice park but only has 7 electric sites. It was off season and they weren’t taking reservations so we had 3 sites to pick from. Good water pressure, no problems with the power, 50 amp in site E1, the rest are 30 amp. This park does not have a dump station but for $8.00 you can dump in town at the KOA campground. No cell or aircard service even with a booster. People were catching good sized trout while we were there. Days were windy but warm and all and all a good little park. There are other areas to dry camp but the roads are a little rough. This park does not have a gate that they lock at night like some of the other state parks in New Mexico. This park could use one since there was a lot of traffic late at night on the weekend. People coming and going at all hours and we think they were kids coming in to party. As we left and were driving into Clayton we couldn’t believe how many beer bottles we saw lying on the side of the road that had been tossed out car windows. We would stay here again midweek during their off season. Price reflects our annual park pass rate.

I'm not reviewing this as a resort destination but as an overnighter or a place to hookup, do your laundry, go grocery shopping, etc. The area we were in had pine trees and a grass field. There are hookup sites in different areas of the fairgrounds, some with shade and others out in the open. We found this to be a great stop over and have used it as such in the past. Most of the rv parks in the area are over priced this time of the year and we never use the pool, club house or any of the other facilities. The water pressure was great, power didn't fluctuate and the site was relatively level. Shopping wasn't too far away and I like the book exchange in the RV office. We found the lady in the office to be very friendly and helpful. We will continue to use this as a pit stop.

When we first arrived at the park we noticed that the first 5 electric sites were not anywhere close to being level. It would have taken quite a few blocks to level out our motorhome. It is totally going up hill. When we reached the crest of the road we saw that most of sites were level and there was only 1 site left. The sites have 20/30 amp hookups but their breaker kept switching off. We tried 2 sites and when the park host came over she didn't seem surprised that we were having electrical problems. Seems they are in the process of updating the park and I guess the electrical is next. We've stayed in lots of National Parks and National Forest Campgrounds and this was really paved over. Not really our cup of tea so we ended up heading to Sumner Lake State Park where we aren't having any electrical problems.

Being a Passport America member we are skeptical of some of the parks that are off the beaten path. This park was a great surprise. We used their laundry facilities which were clean and all of the machines worked. There is also a large selection of books in their book exchange which is in the laundry room and the men's bathroom. The parks power, water and sewer were very good. Our Verizon cell and Aircard signal was very strong. The site was almost level and wide enough not to be hemmed in. This a great little park for what it is. We will stay here again when we are passing through.

This is a Passport America park. Great little RV park with no frills except it did have a very clean laundry room with four washers and 4 dryers with a large long table to fold your clothes. Washers are $1.00 and the dryers are 75 cents. Power was very good, but the water pressure wasn't the greatest, so we used our pump. Wi-Fi is free and worked well; never lost a signal. We were worried that the I-8 would be noisy, but it wasn't; got a good night's sleep. Perfect little stopover and will stay here again when traveling through. I would have given this park a 10 if the water pressure was better.

This is dry camping on BLM land located way behind the Shell station just off the I-8. They only allow self contained hard sided RV's, no tents. There is a free 14 day camp area and a section that is fenced off that is for long term stays (14 days being the shortest time allowed)The cost is $40.00. The Shell Station has a dump station and fresh water. We paid $15.00 to dump and take on water. Friendly people at the Shell Station and they were great about letting us have packages delivered there. It's a very quiet area although you can hear the trains but they didn't bother us at night when sleeping. There is a host at the entrance to the long term area that will take your money and put a sticker on your car and RV. If you like to dry camp this is a great place to stay and Los Algodones is only an exit away. We go over the border every year for various visits. The town of Winterhaven has a Wal-Mart Supercenter, Albertsons, and just about anything you may need. We're full-timing and find the 2 weeks where we're not in a park to be relaxing. We'll be back here again next year!

This is a Passport America park and it was well worth the price. It’s nicer than the majority of the other parks in the area. It’s far enough off the highway to get a good nights sleep and it’s very clean and we felt safe here. A nice park with quiet, friendly and helpful staff. There were no power problems and good water pressure. Good cell and Aircard reception (Verizon). Dome satellite came in fine. The site was asphalt that was level and very wide. We didn’t have to unhook our tow vehicle which is always nice. The sewer hookup was further to the rear of the site making us use an extension on the sewer hose. They also require the sewer hose to be elevated off the ground. Attractions are close by and easily accessible. This was an overnight stop for us while heading west. We will stay here again when passing through the area.

This is a nice park out in the middle of nowhere with peaceful bright starry nights. There is NO dump station here! There are long level pull through sites with some sites having 50AMP service. You will need a reservation since they don't make any first come sites available for travelers. There are a total of 10 electric sites and 3 of them are taken up by camp hosts. The rest are dry camping sites that are developed. It costs $10.60 to make a reservation. You can stay one night in each reservation site (without a reservation) as long as it hasn't been booked for that particular night. I HATE the reservation system; it really ties you down when you're traveling. Water pressure was OK, but we lost electricity 3 times on a Friday. I'm not sure if we lost power or if our hard wired surge protector detected a drop in the voltage or a spike. It didn't happen again the rest of our stay. Cell aircard (Verizon) had good reception, and our satellite came in great since there's no trees. The visitors center is located at the entrance of the park. This is a nice park, but New Mexico has much nicer state parks. I don't think we would go back again. Normal rate without the annual camping pass is $14.00

I reviewed this park this past March giving it I thought a good review. We stopped here for the night on our return trip, and at all 3 sites that we tried to hook up to our hard wired surge protector kept refusing to allow the power to the coach. After about an hour of messing around my husband went to the office to let the lady there know that there was a power problem. She refunded the park fee. My husband said she didn't say a word, just put it on the counter and turned around and walked out. My husband came back to the coach told me what was going on, and he proceeded to put the 50amp cord away and hook our Brake Buddy back up on the car. I was programming our GPS, and we were about to leave when she drove over in her cart (broom stick) and told us to get out. It hadn't even been 5 minutes from the time my husband left the office, stowed a few things, and walked back into the coach. We have never been treated so poorly in the 3 1/2 years we have been full timing. Maybe she was having a bad day, but we weren't exactly having fun messing around with the lousy electrical system of theirs. We left and stayed in Benson, AZ. We pulled in, hooked up, and that was that. We won't ever be staying at Fort Willcox RV Park again. There was no excuse for her treatment of us.

This was a very nice park, rustic on gravel with the sites clearly defined with no room to encroach on your neighbors site. We stayed 3 nights while we stocked up at Costco and did other shopping before leaving the area. Water pressure was very good and no electrical fluctuations that we run into frequently at other parks. No problems getting satellite reception and also had good cell and Internet reception. There were plenty of activities to keep most people occupied. We loved how quiet it was and the people couldn’t have been friendlier. This would have been a great place to have spent the winter if we already had not made plans to be elsewhere. If you don’t want to be located in the city with the traffic noise this is a great place. The I-10 freeway is torn up right now and the surface streets in the downtown area are very congested. We found that it was almost impossible to use our GPS to find businesses. GET A GOOD MAP and call businesses for their cross streets. This was a very pleasant park and we will stay here when in the Tucson area.

We spent 8 days here and really enjoyed the park. The park is up a hillside with the sites terraced giving you incredible views, especially at night. The city lights of Deming, sunsets, and the mountain on the left silhouetted against the night sky… Beautiful!! Good cell, Aircard and Satellite reception (no trees). Water pressure wasn’t the best but it was ok. No problems with the electricity fluctuating. Very friendly camp hosts, with lots of good information. Sites were relatively level and big rig friendly. Gravel roads and sites with a shelter, fire ring and picnic table which is located on a cement pad. There is also a hiking trail and a trail that takes you through the cactus garden. There is a visitors center at the entrance to the park but we didn’t go in. Hubby says the bathrooms were very clean. This park does have a dump station which was very easy to get in. The only drawbacks were the thorns/burrs which were in the grass. You will need to keep a good eye on kitty or rover….and the flies, they were very aggressive. It may just be that time of the year for them. Grocery shopping in Deming at Peppers or Super Walmart. Propane is also available in town. We loved it here and will be back when in the area. Very nice park just off of Hwy. 550. We came in from the North (we started out from Montrose, CO.) and let me tell you that was one hairy ride to the summit. Very narrow roads with no shoulders or guardrails. So, when we arrived at the Alpen Rose it was a welcoming sight!! Pretty park with lots of grass between the pull thru sites. Awesome views of the mountains and right next to the park is a pasture with horses. Some sites are shaded and others are out in the open. There are back-in sites towards the rear of the park with lots of shade trees. Site was level, plenty of room for all the slide outs and awning. Cell phone, Aircard and Satellite all had good reception. Wifi signal was low where we were located so I just used the Aircard. They have a game room, laundry, pool and they also have a group pavilion for get togethers. Propane is sold on site and the office/store had a few RV things and soda, ice cream, and other various goodies. Our price was for a pull thru, 30 amp site with a “goodwill” discount. I would have given the park a 10 if it wasn’t for the road noise. Ask for a site near the rear of the park if you don’t need a pull thru, it should be much quieter there. We would most definitely stay here again!

Another great New Mexico state park. Eight sites with electricity, table, pedestal, and fire ring. Some of the sites had a shade Ramada but our site didn’t, it did have the table sitting on a cement pad. After Labor Day the sites are first come first served only. We drove straight into site # 9 so that we were facing in towards the trees and we opened up away from the road. We were able to get all three slides out but not the awning which didn’t matter since the site was shaded by the trees. You will need an extension cord to reach the box if you pull in as we did. Our site had 20, 30 and 50 amp service. A water faucet was located near the site which was nice and the dump station with potable water is located at the entrance to the campground. The site wasn’t perfectly level but that didn’t prove to be a problem. Gravel interior road but dirt sites. We had to use our portable dish to get a satellite signal and we did have good reception on our cellphone and Aircard (Verizon). We enjoyed the peace and quiet during the day and at night. The park was busy on the weekend but returned to “normal” by Sunday afternoon. If you like peace and quiet you’ll love this park. I would have given the park a 10 if they supplied water to each site. Rate is what we paid with our New Mexico annual park pass. Otherwise it’s $14.00 a night.

First impression of this park was it needs some weed control. This place looks as though it’s mostly people who live here full time. It wasn’t messy around their rigs, I think it’s just the weeds that make the park look so depressing. We were assigned a pull thru in the upper section of the park and found that our surge protector wouldn’t allow the power to stay on, the power was fluctuating wildly. Called the office and they had us go into a back-in. That worked but we were unable to get TV reception through our dome satellite since our site had a big tree next to it. Hubby set up our portable dish and that worked just fine. The site was relatively level, water pressure was good and we didn’t experience any more electrical problems in the new site. Cell phone and Aircard worked just fine. Took advantage of their book exchange library which was nice. Large selection of movie DVD's and nice game room. The park is not too far away from Costco, Sam’s Club, Super Walmart, etc… It was quiet at night and we felt that this was a safe park. The staff was very friendly and helpful. No problems using our Passport America. We will stay here again when in the area.

Nice campground with enough room to get slides and awning out. Sites were far from being level but workable. Our site was a short walk to the lake which was nice. No problems with the electricity, water or sewer. Extremely pricey but it has the best location in the Tetons. Cell phone signal was very weak but was able to use our antenna for my computers Aircard (Verizon). Dome satellite wouldn't work here so used our portable dish and that worked just fine. They do NOT allow campfires here so you won't be choking on your neighbors smoke!! Use your Golden Age Pass if you have one for a discount. We would stay here again during the slow season but not in the summer. Very quiet at night!

This campground is a disgrace!! If the National Park system is going to allow a concessionaire to run these parks, then they should make them upgrade the sites and the electrical end of it. It is so run down looking and the electricity kept going on and off. Unfortunately, it's the only game in town. We would normally dry camp but it was dropping below freezing at night and we didn't want to have problems with the plumbing. Sites were about as tight as you can get them and not real level. Glad we were gone most of the time as this place would have driven us up a tree. What a shame, Yellowstone is a jewel in the National Park system. What must tourists from other countries think when using this facility? The only redeeming feature is that there's a laundry room and shower facility here with very friendly park personnel.

Wow, what a great rv park, this is a gem!! Long pull throughs that are more out in the open and back ins that are under the trees. Flowers everywhere you look and long wide lush green grass between RV’s with a picnic table at each site. Multicolored gravel for pads that were attractive, level and drained well when it rained. The bathrooms/showers were tiled and clean as a whistle. Water pressure was very good, no problems with the electricity and sewer. Couldn’t get a good signal with the wifi (we were in E-11) so I used my Verizon Aircard with our booster antenna. Cell phone (also Verizon) was iffy, sometimes it would work and sometimes calls went straight to voicemail. We were able to use our dome satellite, otherwise they do have cable TV. The park is very big rig friendly with plenty of room to maneuver around with a tow car. Didn’t check out the laundry facilities but if the bathrooms are any indication, I’ll bet the laundry facilities were spotless too. Shopping centers (that we wanted to use) were about 6 miles away. Missoula has anything and everything!! There’s no pool or hot tub but we never use them anyway. The park is close to hwy. 93 but we didn’t notice any traffic noise at night. Also, there are RR tracks above the park but they didn’t disturb our sleep. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! As far as we’re concerned, this is what an RV Park should be like, inviting!!

Not a destination park, but a good overnighter. Owners haven't gone out of their way to make the park attractive or inviting. Water pressure was ok, but our surge protector cut off power when it peaked at 138 V. Our neighbor ran into the same problem. Site was relatively level, not a lot of trees to interfere with our satellite. Sites were wide enough for slide outs but we had a tree next to us so could only put the power awning out part way. It rained for the two days we were here and it was nice to be able to sit under the awning. Cell and Aircard (Verizon) worked fine here. Wifi was iffy and I opted to use my Aircard. The last 3 rv parks we've been in have advertised Wifi but it seems as though they never reach our site. The office at Fairmont RV Park was about 150 feet away and the signal was fluctuation wildly. Would we come back? Not likely, as they have withdrawn from Passport America and we don't think this park is worth $30.00 a night.

Nice campground and interesting visitors center with a 20 minute film about the canyon. Really beautiful canyon with lots of look outs with breathtaking views. There are 3 loops with loop B having 50 amp service. Noticed a number of sites with tent pads and quite a few pull thrus and the rest being back ins. Site B-21 can easily take a 40 ft. motor home with a medium size tow vehicle. We were able to put our awning out too. Some sites were very private with Gamble Oaks and other bushes surrounding the sites. We found that some of the back in sites were narrow making it hard to open all of your slides and awning. FILL UP your water tanks before coming, the water they provide is for drinking only. There is no dump station at the campground but they do have a list of places where you can dump your tanks. The list is posted at the fee station. We would stay here again, it was very quiet and relaxing. Camping fees are $18.00 or $12.00 with the Golden Age Pass.

Not impressed with this park at all. Arrived just after 2 days of rain. Rabbits were everywhere and so was their poop. Nothing like wet rabbit poop sticking to the bottoms of your shoes!! Luckily this was just an overnight stop for us. Needed to do some grocery shopping, and Hamilton has a number of super markets. Wi-FI signal was too weak at our site, but my Aircard and cell phone had a good signal. Satellite for the TV was no problem (they offer cable TV), nice strong signal, no tree interference. The water pressure was good, no problems with the electricity or sewer. Site was level but needed a lot more gravel so you wouldn’t be walking in mud. They have laundry facilities that’s open 24/7 which is nice but we didn’t check them out. It looks like the river is close to the pull through sites (pretty grassy area with lots of trees), but I didn’t feel like trudging through the poop to look at it. This park could be very nice if they cleaned it up and found homes for the multitude of rabbits!!

We arrived here at the end of September and stayed for 3 weeks. It is such a beautiful State Park with lots of trees and birds. While here we saw hundreds of Sand Hill Cranes flying overhead. October 1st all of the sites became 1st come so you can take any site that’s available for up to 3 weeks during their winter season. The week days were very quiet but on the weekends it was busy. No dump station here, you’ll have to dump at Caballo State Park. Or possibly at Arrey RV Park which is on the 187 , you'll see it just before you turn off on the road to Percha Dam. We’ve never liked dumping at Caballo State Park due to the fact the dump station is hard to get into because it's so narrow. If you are heading south on the I-25, Leasburg Dam State Park has a dump station too. Verizon cell & Aircard worked very well. Water pressure was good and electricity wasn’t a problem. The town of Truth or Consequence is to the north of the park and there is now a Super Wal-Mart on the north end of town. We’ve stayed here 3 times in the last 19 months and always hate to leave. It is a great park and we will be back again next year.

This is the strangest park I think we've ever been in! The power & sewer hookups are behind the site between rail fences that you have to climb over. We weren't able to use the sewer hookups due to the fact that it was so far away. This is the most asinine setup I've ever experienced. I asked the camp host who is located at the back of the park in a yellow double-wide why the electric box and sewer connections were behind a fence. She said she's had a number of complaints and that it must have looked good on paper. Too bad they spent all this money on a remodel, what a waste. We had dumped our tanks at the last park we were in so not having a sewer hookup wasn't the end of the world. The entrance to this "park" is off of Yellowstone Rd. Entrance Gate E... It's an OK overnighter and that's about it... Cell phone, Satellite dome, Aircard worked fine here and we didn't have any problems with the power or water.

A really sad RV Park. It sure doesn't have any type of appeal what so ever... Dirt spaces with low growing weeds. We decided to stay here since this park was better than the alternative (Outlaw RV Park..another dump) which was a bigger mess than it was when we drove through two years ago. Power was fluctuating so much that we decided to just run off our batteries and hooked up the water & sewer. A man came over to our motorhome and told us other people have had problems with the power too. He appeared to have been drinking and my husband said that there was a swarm of gnats circling around his head and when he walked off they followed him. There were a lot of oil & gas field workers at the back of the park and they seemed to keep their area clean. ATV & dirt bikes were being ridden into and around the outside of the park. It finally stopped at 10pm. Naturally this noise started after we had arrived and set up. The manager was very nice and she said there were showers in the building which is located in the middle of the park. We didn't go anywhere near them. The park is only accepting checks or cash as payment. Cell, dome satellite, and Aircard worked fine. When we went looking for the trash dumpster, we found it to be overflowing onto the ground. Would we stay here again?? NO WAY!!!!! If you have sophisticated electronics on board stay away...

We found some of the cheapest diesel we have seen in quite a while at a Gas Station next to the Tribal Welcome Center on Hwy 4 coming in from Santa Ynez, it was $3.81 and regular was $3.31 a gal. Quiet State Park about 8 miles north of Jemez Springs to the turnoff (126) for Fenton Lake State Park. The road coming into the park is dirt with some pot holes. It’s about ¾ of a mile to the campground and you will pass the lakes day use area with parking and restrooms. Situated in a pine forest at an elevation of 7,900 ft. there are 6 electric/water sites in a wagon wheel configuration all facing towards the hub. It’s hello neighbor!!! with no privacy. The sites are fairly level in the hookup sites. No problems with the power and very good water pressure. This park is not big rig friendly but we were able to get in with our 38’…. but we did have to leave going back out the entrance to the campground. It’s a tight turn otherwise if you try to leave out the exit. It wasn’t a problem for us to get out. No cell or aircard signal here! We were able to get a satellite signal with our dome satellite which surprised us since we were in the trees. There’s a small lake (37 acres) for watching the wildlife, fishing/boating, picnics or just hanging out with a good book. There are more developed sites (37) without hookups down the road past the turn off for the hookup sites. Not all of the sites are level so bring blocks. We did see some nice campsites that were away from the rest giving you very good privacy. All of the sites have BBQ rings and tables with Loop C having water. There are NO shower facilities here... We enjoyed our stay and found the surrounding area to be very interesting with lots of things to explore. The town of Jemez Springs has a couple of restaurant/bars with outside dining. Numerous galleries with pottery, jewelry, Indian dolls etc. Side roads take you through some very beautiful areas. Great stay at the park and had fun exploring the area. Will probably be back again since we love New Mexico and spend lots of time traveling their roads. The normal rate for an electric site is $14.00 or $4.00 if you hold an annual camping pass.

Nice peaceful campground on the Salmon River. Enjoyed our short stay as this was an overnight stop. Far enough off hwy 93 that the traffic isn't a distraction. Electrical was very good, water pressure was great and no problems with sewer hookup. Wifi signal was very very low but I was able to connect. No cellphone or Aircard signal (Verizon) here. Our dome satellite was able to pick up a signal, no interference with the trees. My only complaint is that the pull-thrus are too close together. Site was relatively level and we did have enough room to get our awning out. But the guy next to us was so close (we know he couldn't get his awning out)that he probably heard my husband snoring last night!! Ok as a overnight but wouldn't want to stay in a pull-thru. If we come back through this area next time we'll get a river site. They appear to be much roomier.

Challis Golf Course RV Park is located off of Hwy. 93 about 1 1/2 miles up (west) Main St. It’s nothing special although you are up higher and get a nice view of the valley below. It’s very quiet here and close to markets, restaurants and areas for sightseeing. There are 17 pull throughs and a number of other sites that appear to be back-ins that are located closer to the highway. I don't know the exact number of sites since we didn't receive a park information brochure. The sites are wide enough to get all of your slides out and the awning too. We’re 38’ and towing a Jeep Cherokee and didn’t have to unhook but if you’re over 40’ you may have to unhook and park next to your coach, there’s enough room, or T-bone your toad in front of your coach. The aprons are made of crushed slate and aren’t totally level. Power was good, water pressure was great, no problems with the sewer hookup. Great (free) WiFi, very strong signal. No cell phone or Aircard signal with (Verizon). Clean bathrooms and showers although we didn’t use them. Outside of the shower/bathrooms is a soda vending machine and there is also a laundry facility. No trees for shade but you won’t have any problems getting a satellite signal for your TV. We were in a 30 amp pull through but according to our receipt they do have 50 amp sites. We didn’t need to run both of our basement air conditioners, so 30 amp was fine. It’s a perfect place to get a good night's sleep or to play a round of golf. If you spend 2 nights you get a free round of golf (9 hole course). Otherwise it’s $12.00 for the golf and $10.00 for a cart. They have a driving range too. The Park Host, Denny was very friendly and helpful. I would have given this park a higher rating if it had shade trees and we felt that this park was a little on the pricey side for having so few amenities. We would stay here again if passing through the area.

Wood River Campground is probably the nicest campground North of Ketchum. Road & aprons are paved keeping the area free of dust. Bathrooms are vault toilets but the building looks new and it’s well maintained. Campground roads are wide enough & the trees along side the road are limbed up high enough to make maneuvering the loop easy. The aprons are approx. 12X43 and many sites are big rig friendly. We had site #16 and it received sun most of the day. It’s a huge site with lots of trees to sit under. We couldn’t get a Sat. signal with our dome satellite but the portable dish worked fine. We set it up between the trees near the front of the site and the bathroom that was next to us. Water faucets are located around the loop having 8 threaded faucets but you will need a faucet key to turn them on, they’ve removed the handles. If you have a Water Thief (found at Camping World) that will work too. You’ll have to have someone hold the water faucet handle in the on position. This campground has garbage service and the bear proof dumpster is located near the entrance/exit of the campground. There’s a dump station over at the Visitors Center located about 2 miles south on the east side of the hwy and in about 1/4 mi. on a dirt/gravel rd. (The road is paved up to the Visitors Center) It also has drinking water so you can fill up your tank. The Harriman Trail runs along the back loop of the Campground and we saw people using it as a bike and hiking trail. Ketchum is a year round resort so there is lots to do there. Plenty of restaurants and shops to browse and quite a few outfitters in the area. You’ll see lots of pull outs for day use areas and for fishing the river. There’s a small market in Ketchum called Atkinson’s, between 4th & 5th St. on the east side of Hwy. 75 up about a block. It’s very busy, very crowded and has very high prices. If you’re coming in from the south of Ketchem there’s an Albertson’s in Hailey which has everything including a gas station. It’s on the north side of town. No mosquitoes while we were there, not sure what it was like with the sites that are closer to the Wood River. There is some road noise during the day but at night it was very quiet. There are no showers in this campground. There is a facility to the north, Easley Campground and Hot Springs with showers and a pool for a fee. I would have given this campground a 10 if they hadn’t removed the water faucet handles. We would stay here again if in the area.

Smiley Creek Lodge & RV Park is located 24 miles south of Stanley or 37 miles north of Ketchum. RV park is on grass that appeared to have been recently mowed. Very rustic sites, nothing special except the views which are spectacular! Some sites are out in the open, other sites are shaded by Aspen or Pines. The Smiley Creek Airport is located across the street with only private planes so it wasn’t a noise problem. Some sites are closer to the hwy but at night we didn’t notice road noise. Only 30 amp sites, water & sewer, there are some sites with electric only. Very friendly soft spoken manager with a great outgoing personality. No cable TV, pool, hot tubs, etc., just beautiful views from every direction. We didn’t have a problem leveling out our motor home although it would probably take more time with a trailer or fifth wheel. We were able to use our dome satellite since we were more out in the open. No Cell or Aircard service here but we used the WI-FI in the restaurant which is next door and their food was very good. We didn’t use the showers and they do have a laundry room, although only 2 of the washers and dryers were working. Cabin rentals are available along with 3 teepees. Gas and propane are available here too. The drive up from Ketchum was beautiful with numerous turnouts and the valley view coming in was breathtaking!! Truly a beautiful drive into the Salmon River Valley. This park is a little pricey for not having more amenities($34.56) but the views were worth it, plus we were able to use our washer dryer and get all of our laundry done! We would stay here again if in the area.

May Creek Campground (Beaverhead National Forest) is located just off of Highway 43, between Highway 93, Lost Trail Pass and the town of Wisdom, MT. Beautiful campground with lots of Lodgepole Pine. The interior road is dirt and gravel and the aprons are the same. There were a few pot holes in the road but, all and all it wasn’t too bad. Didn’t have any problems driving through the campground nor did we have a problem finding a campsite to fit in. Some sites are big rig friendly. Not very many people there over the weekend so it was very peaceful. Some of the sites are closer together than others and some sites aren’t level. We stayed in site #13 and had enough room (we’re 38’ class A) to get both bedroom slides out, living room slide and awning. The water faucet was just across the road from our site. There are only two non threaded pressurized faucets in the campground. A Water Thief makes filling the tank easier and you can find them at a Camping World. We were able to get our dome satellite in from our site. Long site and almost level. Vault toilets that were very clean but not lit up at night. We didn’t see a camp host in the four days we were there. This is a pack it in pack it out campground, NO garbage service. No cell or Aircard signal (Verizon) there. Closest town that we could get a cell signal was in Sula at the Bitterroot Ranger Station on Highway 93. There is a market in Sula and further to the north in Darby. Closest dump station going east is in Wisdom, Mt. at the Sinclair Gas Station. The other closest dump is in Sula going north on the 93 at the Sula Store & Campground. Big Hole National Battlefield is about 7 miles (from the campground) to the east off of Highway 43. The visit gives you a better understanding of what our government did to not only the Nez Perce Indians but other tribes as well. Very well done movie (25 min.) on the history of the Nez Perce flight and encounters with the 7th Calvary. Campground rates are $10.00 or $5.00 with a Golden Age Pass. We really enjoyed our stay at May Creek and would love to stay there again.

Lake Como Campground is in the Bitterroot National. Forest north of Darby, Mt. Located off of Highway 93, it’s almost three miles in making it a really quiet setting among old growth Ponderosa Pine and Douglas Fir. All of the sites are paved pull throughs and big rig friendly. There are two double sites (two electric & water connections in the double sites) and eight single sites, one being a handicapped site. The interior road is also paved so we weren‘t dragging dirt into the motorhome. The aprons are very narrow and it may take a few attempts to hug the outside of the apron to give yourself enough room to put out your side tables and chairs. There’s a table and fire ring next to the site and it‘s very roomy. Don’t know why they made the aprons so narrow especially since this campground has just recently been renovated. Every site has water and 20/30 amp service. The bathrooms are vault toilets, no lights at night so you’ll have to grab a flashlight. This campground does provide garbage service. NO DUMP STATION…. We’ve found that there are very few waste stations provided by the forest service. Stop at a Ranger’s Station in Sula, Darby, or Hamilton and pick up a pamphlet that has waste station locations. There are a number of them in the area, one being Anglers Roost (RV park) to the north and Traveler‘s Rest in Darby to the south. Traveler’s Rest charges $5.00 to dump and another $5.00 to fill your water tank. Lake Como is a great campground, very peaceful and small. You can’t see the lake from the campground but it is only a short walk away. Nice sandy beach and swimming area. Picnic tables and vault toilets are provided. Not all sites are level but our site, #9 wasn’t a problem. There’s no cell or Aircard signal (Verizon) in the campground but we didn’t have a problem getting a satellite signal. There’s a grocery store about six miles from the campground in Darby that’s well stocked. The town of Hamilton, Mt. is about 19 miles to the north where you will find just about anything you might need. We stayed here for two weeks through the Labor Day weekend. Campsite rates are as follows: $14.00 for the campsite and an extra $2.00 for the utilities. If you hold a Golden Age Pass it’s $7.00 for the site and $2.00 for the utilities. Tow vehicles are not considered an extra vehicle but if for some reason you have 2 cars in your site they charge an extra $5.00. A Recreational Pass is also required if you park anywhere in the recreational area other than the campground and it costs $5.00, or it’s free with the Golden Age Pass. I’ve seen people driving around without the recreational pass hanging from the rear view mirror and no one seems to check for them. We would stay here again if in the area.

This is not our favorite CG in the park. The sites are too close together and at night you're choking on wood smoke from campfires. It makes it hard to deal with when you're motorhome has to be closed up and it's very warm out. Wish they had campfire free loops in the park. The Teton's are probably our favorite National Park. You can see as many animals here as you can see in Yellowstone without dealing with the crowds. The grocery store is well stocked and they have a very large gift store with camping needs, clothing and curios. Would we stay here again? Probably as this is the only campground that our coach can fit in besides Gros Ventre (which is our favorite CG) and it's closer to Jackson so there's a lot of driving involved when sightseeing near the Colter Bay area. I've noticed that the fuel prices aren't hiked up either which is nice. Propane is also available in Colter Bay.

Beautiful location with spectacular views in every direction. Large sites, some with water and electric, some with just elec. Dump station is near the park entrance. Friendly helpful park staff, couldn't have been nicer. No problems with satellite reception since there are no really large trees. Cellphone and aircard reception good also. The entire parks road system is paved so there's no dust blowing around. The mosquitoes were a hassle but not as bad as they could have been. The park has a boat ramp and a very large parking lot for boat trailers. Our site was pretty level and we didn't have to mess with blocks. There are a number of day trips you can take, one being Mesa Falls to the southeast. Macks Inn to the south has a dinner theater with 2 different plays alternating every other night. Gas/mini markets are close by. This is a very peaceful park and we'll stay here again if in the area.

All of the amenities this park offers on one hand is great, but on the other hand the noise from the cement/gravel yard next store was extremely annoying!! We arrived on a Sat. and the yard on the other end of the park was making quite a racket. We thought, oh well, It will probably be quiet on Sun. Wrong!! Noisy as can be. It's a shame that they don't build a wall along there like they did to contain the interstate noise. Water pressure, electricty was great. Cellphone, Aircard (Verizon) was very good along with good satellite signal from our site. Enjoyed having nice green grass outside the door. Evenings were very quiet! Close to Costco, Sam's Club, Walmart and just about any other chain store you can think of. Had Pizza delivered by Pizza Runner and it was very good! We would probably stay here again since it's the closest park to Charlie's RV Service in Sunset, UT.

Very nice park with beautiful lawns and trees. Some sites offer shade but the majority of the trees next to the sites aren't tall enough to cast much shade. Sites are level, they all have a fire ring that you can BBQ on and a pedestal BBQ too. There is no privacy between sites so get ready to wave hello to your neighbor! We had cellphone, Aircard (Verizon), and satellite reception. Good power service and very good water pressure. The town of Rupert is about 21 miles away if you need to buy anything. There's a Super Walmart there along with chain grocery stores. If you are 62 or older this park is offered at 50% off Mon. - Thurs. We would stay here again if in the area.

This is a nice place to spend the night and have a chefs night off. We're not much into gambling, but they do have a bar that over looks the lake while you can play video poker. There is good water pressure, 50amp power, and sewer. Sites are all gravel, but that's better than dirt! I was picking up a Wi-Fi signal for the lodge but don't know if it was free for those of us in the RV park. I was too lazy to walk to the store to find out. There is NO cell or Aircard service here (Verizon). There is road noise, but it didn't wake us up after we fell asleep. This is always one of our stops when we are traveling along the 395 corridor.

We spent the 4th of July weekend here (we're still here) and really enjoyed ourselves. The wildflowers were outrageous and the weather was perfect. If you're looking for amenities then this might not be for you. But, if you're looking for beauty and wildlife with quiet nights this may just fit the bill. There are numerous camping loops, some are generator free which is great for the tenter's. A Loop can fit bigger rigs although each loop has a couple of sites that you should be able to fit into. Cellphone service was iffy, but my Aircard with the booster worked fine (Verizon). Drinking water is located across from the park office along with 2 dump stations. There is no water inside the campground so fill up before you come in. Our site was level with gravel/old pavement. The interior loops are all paved but could use some patching. One bit of advice. If you put your awning out and plan on leaving to sightsee, bring it back in. The weather can change within minutes. The old saying "bored with the weather? Wait 10 minutes." This is true and when a thunderstorm blows through it can rip your awing and bend the braces. This is our second stay in this campground and we love it. On some mornings you can spot Mom moose and her twins. They are now almost as big as their mother. E Loop is closed to campers right now and that's where we've been watching the twins graze with their mom. Truly a wonderful campground! We used our Golden Age passport for 1/2 off.

Ok park for overnight or exploring the Ruby Mts. Too close to the I-80 if you want to sleep in or sit outside. Wifi worked and so did my Aircard at about the same speed. Good cell and Sat. reception (Verizon). A shuttle will pick you up if you want to go to the casino. We might stay here again if we need to get an early start in the morning.

I can see why this park received such good reviews. It is one of the nicest campground parks we’ve been in. It’s very similar to forest service campgrounds except it has full hookups if you want them and the sites are close together. We’re 38’ overall and we had to be careful while navigating through the trees. It’s pretty tight in some places. Our site had an asphalt pad but wasn’t level; you’ll need to use your levelers. There was enough room to get our slides and awning out. We did notice some of the sites were very narrow. This campground was built in the late 60’s when RV’s didn’t have slides or as big as they are today. Make sure when you make your reservation that you give the manager the overall length of your vehicle and how many slides you have. We weren’t able to get a signal on our dome satellite so we used our portable dish and that worked out great. There was cell service (Verizon) but I couldn’t get out on my computer even using our booster antenna. The signal was fluctuating from no bars to 5 the whole time we were there. Water, power and sewer were good. Having paved roads made all the difference in the world while sitting outside. NO DUST…. People were very respectful of other people’s space. Quiet time is from 10pm to 9am and it was quiet!! I know that cell phone service, Sat reception, etc. isn’t important to everyone but we’re full timers so to is to us. There’s a really great market in town that has a butcher counter and good produce and we thought the store was well stocked. I would have given this park a 10 if it had wifi. This was a very enjoyable park and we will return when in the area.

We pulled in and were allowed to pick a spot. When we tried to hook up to the the power box our electrical security system wouldn't allow us to use the power. We changed to a different site in the back (metered) but our security stystem still wouldn't allow the power to come on. This has always been a favorite stop for us when traveling because it's quiet with very little road noise. We hated to leave and I'm not happy to report this issue with the electrical system there. I just thought people should know that there was a problem for us. We moved to another park and didn't encounter a problem there.

This is a forest Service Campground in Eldorado Natl. Forest. It’s located approx. 52 miles from Jackson on Hwy 88 and is at 7,200 ft. There are 2 Silver Lake Campgrounds. The one I’m reporting on is after Silver Lake Campground WEST. Nice Campground but is NOT large rig friendly. The first loop to your right when you come into the campground has low limbs and a tight turn half way through the campground. The next loop on your left is easier to maneuver through. We’re 38’ and barely made it into site #26. If you’re bigger then 30 feet I wouldn’t even attempt to go into the last loop at the rear of the campground. Very small spurs, suited more towards campers, tents and small travel trailers. Not all of the sites are level so bring blocks! There is water located around all the loops and there are vault toilets. Camp Host on duty and sells wood. There is no cell phone or aircard service here. Nearest Dump Station is at Plasse’s Resort to the West and there is a fee. Silver Lake fishing is reported to be pretty good right now, and there are boat rentals and restaurants at the lake. This campground is on the reservation system but it does have some first come camp sites. Golden Age is accepted here for half price, otherwise the rate per night is $22.00. We only stayed 1 night since we didn’t have reservations. Don’t think we’d stay here again since the spur lengths are so varied.

This campground is at 7,200 feet and is just west of Silver Lake campground. We drove through in our car to see if we could fit in any of the spaces and found the campground to have tight turns, low limbs and short spurs. NOT Class A friendly at all. Lots of walk in sites for tents, water faucets located around the 2 loops and it has vault toilets. No cell phone or Aircard signal. I doubt you could get a satellite signal since it is heavily treed. Nice campground, and if we could have stayed we would have. This CG is perfect for Class C, tent trailers, etc. Not for large 5er's or Class A's...

We stopped here while on the way to the Tetons. Nice little campground with good power, adequate water pressure, and sewer. Campsites are far enough away from the road to get a good night's sleep. We had good cell, Aircard, and satellite reception. Our site was level and it was on gravel but we saw other sites that had grass. There's enough room to get your slides and awning out. The campground is behind a store and a Sinclair gas station. Management was very friendly. We didn't see any fire pits or raised BBQs, which was fine with us since we both get sick and tired of breathing wood smoke. Palisade Reservoir is nearby for fishing, boating, etc. We would stay here again.

For us this was a great overnighter as we were headed home, tired and really needed a quiet nights sleep. Not located in a heavy traffic area. Very nice large level pad with enough room for our MH and tow car. Great view of the lake from our site. Good water pressure and 50 amp service. Cell, Sat. and aircard had a great signal. The park was very clean and well maintained. No old beat up vehicles are allowed. Your rig must be in good shape or they'll turn you away.

This is a big parking lot behind the casino with an area in the back for rv parking sites. It can be a tight squeeze when trying to get out in the morning. For $18.00 with full hookups I'm not going to complain. Water, power and sewer were fine. Aircard, cellphone and sat. signal was very good. We even ate in the coffee shop (chicken fried steak) and it was fine. We were there on a weekend and I guess some of the employees were servicing other areas of the casino. We were getting attitude from the woman who was working the cashiers booth and the bar. Gee, We're sitting at the bar after a long drive and would like a drink, so sue me! Next to the casino is a Scolari's Mkt. I have to say it was quiet at night, no one woke us up. We would stay here again as an overnighter.

Having lived in June Lake for 18 years and finding out we had sold our house we needed a place to stay. Since our motor home was too big to stay in our driveway, I started to think about an RV park that had full hookups. I had never been in Golden Pine RV Park but had passed by it numerous times. The park is located in the Village and a short walk to a bakery, deli, post office, restaurants and numerous other small businesses. At night the town rolls up and it’s very quiet although the Tiger Bar, Sierra Inn and the Double Eagle all have a bar if that‘s your thing. Gull lake is just down the road with a marina and store. In the mornings we sat outside to have coffee in the sun and plan our day. When the wind would come up we were tucked in by the trees and a small hill. It was a very comfortable spot, although the sites are close together there was enough room to open all of our slides and put out the awning. Our site wasn’t completely level but we had no problems leveling our MH. There’s a laundry room, bathroom and shower, but since we’re self contained we didn’t use them . Good water, power and sewer, no problems. It’s not a resort, but it had everything we needed to be comfortable. No pool here but June Lake has a beach and a swimming area that’s roped off. Most of the time the park was deserted during the day with people out fishing, hiking and sightseeing. The area we were in had gravel, a small picnic table and the park seemed to be well maintained. Friendly management and helpful. We opted to stay for a month at $600.00 since there wouldn’t be a bed tax added in. Verizon just put in a tower so we had cell and Aircard service. We were able to use our rooftop satellite which surprised us since there’s lots of trees. All in all this turned out to be a good choice. We’ll stay here again when we’re here to visit friends and do a little fishing.

We stayed here for 1 night last year. Wasn't the best experience but not the worst. This year we needed a park near Freightliner to have our Allison's transmission fluid changed. This park may be out in the desert but there's no reason the owners can't put gravel down for the comfort of their guests. It was impossible to sit outside without getting a mouthful of dust every time someone drove by and we sank into the talcum powder dirt when walking around. It was impossible to keep the dirt out of our coach. Glad we were able to use our Passport America here as I would have hated to spend $33.00 a night to park in a dust bowl!! We won't be back!!

This is an Army Corps Of Engineers Campground. Cholla Campground (aka Loop A) is comprised of nine acres. Facilities in this campground include 34 individual campsites, each with an electric hook-up, a concrete table, and a grill. Twenty two sites have shelters. Water spigots are located throughout the campground. The entrance road is paved. This campground has one sanitary dump station and large water borne restroom/shower building. That said, the campsites are missed marked with the reservation system. Site numbered stakes that have an R on them are designated as a reservation campsite. We pulled into a site without an R on the stake and found that it was on the reservation system. Very confusing mess. Some sites we found with an R were first come first serve sites. Hopefully they will get this mess straightened out. Nice sites, water at each site with the exception of site # 20. Tetillia Peak Recreation Area is on the west side of Cochiti Lake and less crowed. The reservation system information says Tetillia Peak Cholla CG has 50 amp service. It does NOT, it does have 20/30 amp. On the east side of the lake is Cotchiti Recreation Area and they have 50 Amp service. Some sites overlook the lake and valley. We enjoyed our stay and would go back. FYI. Next to Cholla Campground is Coyote Campground (aka Loop B): A partially paved road extends throughout this area. There are 10 camping spaces, each with a table and grill. There are no electric hook-ups. Water spigots are scattered throughout the loop. The restroom/shower building is centrally located for easy access.

We were here the same time last year, and the campground appears to be the same. The grounds are spotless and the cactus gardens are kept up, and must be lovely when in bloom. The park rangers are always smiling, and the camp hosts are very helpful and friendly. We love how quiet it is here. If you're looking for a peaceful place to pass the time, this is it!

This was a great little park for an overnighter or to explore the area. Since we don't care about swimming pools, rec. rooms, etc. we were happy to have a quiet spot with good water pressure, electric and sewer. We used our Passport America, and they gladly accepted it. Very nice, friendly people at the desk. Good cell service, aircard and sat. reception. Sites were gravel and dirt, but they were level and the area was very clean. You can hear the trains at night but once we fell asleep they didn't wake us up. Would be happy to stay here again when in the area.

Nice campground with all of the trees. Unfortunately when we arrived it was the day after the Easter weekend. Our site was a pig sty! Bones and dog poop everywhere. We stayed for 2 weeks, and I only saw the camp host once. The weekends are very busy, and all of the elec/water sites were full by friday night. The day before we left the new camp host (the other host was heading home) came over and handed us a trash bag, and we were told it was our turn to clean up!! Sorry bubba, but we already cleaned up the dog poop and all of the bones before we put our mats out on the disgusting littered ground. Why do they bother to have a host when they don't really do diddley squat?? We've been to at least 2/3 of New Mexico's State Parks and this one was the dirtiest!! Would we go back? Yes, just a shame that such a nice park is being neglected. Cell, aircard and sat. came in fine (Verizon). No problems with the electric and water. Plenty of room for our car and MH. Lots of room for our slides, and plenty of room to spread out. We have an annual camping pass otherwise an elec/water site is $14.00 or $18.00 with sewer.

We were here last year and had a great stay. This year when we came through the campsites with hookups were full. We were able to stay in the dry camp area down past the park office. The area can handle at least 6-8 rigs. There is water and trash and you can use the shower/bathroom facilities. The area is dirt, but it's just a place to park overnight unless you want to stay longer. Not sure what the normal charge would be, we have an annual camping pass so it was free.

This was the only place that was close to my family and available so we could spend Xmas together. We were desperate and there are only two places to stay near the Palos Verdes Penninsula, Dockweiler and Golden Shores in Long Beach. Constant roar of jets over your head day and night. It was very windy while we were there and we did get the odor from the sewage treatment plant, yuck. We won't go back again unless Golden Shores in Long Beach is booked up. Power was fine, no problems there, water pressure was so so. Cell phone and air card reception (Verizon) was iffy at times. Satellite reception was good since there are only tall palm trees. The length limit here is 37' and there is toad parking along the road leading to exit. Guest parking is $5.00 per vehicle week days. No guest parking on weekends and holidays.

Lovely campground by the river with great views. Watched the barge/boat traffic moving through the locks. Large sites with plenty of room for awnings and slides. Water & power (50amp)was good. Our site was level and easy to get into. Cellphone, aircard and satellite signal was good. Quiet except for the boat and lock activity (horn) which wasn't very often. Good place to overnight and relax away from the constant roar of the I-40 while traveling. Would stay here again. Golden Age Pass accepted for 1/2 price.

As an overnighter this was fine. We had a pull-thru so we didn't have to unhook our toad. Water pressure was fine and no problems with our 50amp hookup. We had sat. and cellphone reception. We noticed that not all of the sites were level but we had no problems getting her level. I noticed a sign at the office that there is a laundry and shower facilities although we didn't use them. We were looking for a quiet place off of the I-40 and this was it. We would stop here again if traveling through.

OK for a couple of nights. Wouldn't really want to be here if the wind came up. The dirt's like talcum powder, and rather thick in some areas. Never did see gravel anywhere. Power and water were fine. Good sat, cell, and aircard reception. Plenty of room for slides and toad. Sites were level and easy to get in and out of. Staff helpful and friendly. Lots of road noise day and night. They also honored our Passport America card even though it was a weekend. Freightliner and Camping World close by. We would stay here again as an overnighter.

Nice State Park. We thought the sites were a little close to each other but there weren't very many people here due to the time of year. We had a site right on the lake with 50amp, water and sewer. Big rig friendly, good satellite cell and aircard reception. Water pressure was adequate and no problems with the power. Site pads are concrete with plenty of room for awning and slides. Park offers too many amenities to list so check out their website. Even if you're looking for just a place to spend the night, it's worth the drive because this place was quiet! We would stop here again if in the area. Price included a $2.00 senior discount (62 or older).

Nicest owners you will ever meet. Clean grounds and spotless bath/showers. Had a mound of laundry to do so they assigned us site 40, right next to the laundry facilities. 4 stacked Maytag washer/dryers at no charge to use. Very quiet at night, no road noise or train whistles... Will take advantage of their book exchange next time.

This State Park is located 10 miles off of the I-40 and it's well worth the drive. Many of the sites are located right on the lakes edge with a fire ring, barbecue, and picnic table. The RV pads are concrete, level and the view is spectacular especially now with the fall colors. There are 4 pull thru sites, a few tent and 23 back-ins. Plenty of room for awning and slides plus many of the sites can easily fit a big rig and toad. 30amp power was good, along with decent water pressure. Cellphone, Aircard and Sat. reception are good. Boating and fishing are some of the activities available here. There is only one other RV here so we have it to ourselves. This park is a real winner and it's worth the drive. I would have given this park a 10 if it had sewer hookups, although there is a dump station in the park. There is a $2.00 discount for over 62. We will be back if in the area again.

This is a beautiful campground. We were there on a Saturday for an overnighter and it was quiet. It was very relaxing!! We were in A loop #11 right next to the water. The site was very long with plenty of room for a big rig and a toad. It looked like the apron was new made out of ashpalt and totally level. We were able to use our tv sat., cellphones and aircard for the computer (we are fulltiming) Markets were close by along with restaurants and just about anything else one might need. Water pressure was great, and we had no problems with the power. We would go back again if we were in the area, we really enjoyed the park.

Called Wed. morning and was able to book a spot for 2 nights. Was told when we arrived that we were lucky since we and everyone else were there for the RV Show at the Pomona Fairplex. The staff was very friendly which was nice since this park is a little pricey. Nice grounds with mature trees and lush green grass. We were put into B171 and it had a great view of the lake below, and the city and mountains. Only drawback, it's near a small plane airport. Noisy during the day but quiet at night. The morning we were ready to leave I saw a coyote(and it looked very well fed) come up the hillside and trot along the edge of the campsites. Don't leave your pets unattended, I'm sure it was looking for a snack. Ask about their watering schedule as we got up Thursday morning and found our chairs were soaked. Also our cell reception was a little iffy, OK in the morning but not so great in the late afternoon. Aircard for computer was fine. We would stay here again if in the area.

Beautiful State Park!! Quiet and well maintained. Road in is steep, but we had no problems in our 35' class A and towing. Cell phone and computer aircard (Verizon) reception was really iffy. Signals fluctuated constantly. We were able to get a TV Sat. signal without any problems. Our pull thru site (there are 10) was level and we had no problems getting our slides out. Great water pressure and no problems with electric. NO State Park signs for turn off on the freeway or on the road to the park. Use GPS if you've got it. Really enjoyed the park and had a great nights sleep! We would stay here again.

Nice overnight rv park if your rig is insulated like a vault. The roar of the I-40 was continuous. I finally fell asleep with a pillow over my head. You couldn't ask for a more accommodating, and friendly staff. We didn't have any problems getting in or out of our space. We're 35' and towing and had no problems maneuvering around the park. We were able to level our rig easily. Water pressure was very good and the power was fine. Plenty of room for our slides. Cell phone and aircard (verizon) reception was good. Couldn't get reception on our portable satellite dish. We were tired and just glad to get off the road. Would we stay there again?.... only if we had to.

Nothing fancy, clean, level sites. All sites are pull-thrus. Good cell phone reception and computer airphone reception (Verizon). Great water pressure, best we've had a park in quite a while. Friendly owner, she greeted us after we got settled in. Far enough off of the 1-40 so it's great for a good nights sleep. Park is located on Route 66 but was quiet at night. Great place for an overnighter. Would stay here again.

Nice State Park, but we found the sites to be too close together. Little to no privacy. Some of the sites have trees that can provide shade. There are 2 electric loops. One is on their reservation system and the other isn't. I believe there are at least 12 first come sites. Some of the sites aren't level but that wasn't a problem, we were able to level our MH without any problems. Sites are dirt/gravel, the road is paved so that helps keep the dust down. Not a very busy campground as there are still sites in the first come loop available today which is a Sat. The reservation area looks full. I would have given this State Park a 10 if the sites were further apart and there were water hookups. We didn't check out the other campgrounds within the park so don't know what those sites are like. We have cell service here and my Verizon air card is picking up a good signal too. There's a dump station here and dumpsters are provided throughout the park. Quiet park during midweek, hardly a soul here.

Located 32 miles east of Tierra Amarilla, Hopewell Lake cg sits at 9,800 ft. in the Carson Natl. Forest and is a great place to escape the summer heat. It’s located just off hwy 64 which isn’t a very busy road. We came in from Taos which is not as steep a climb as it is coming in from the town of Tierra Amarilla. Very nice campground with threaded water spigots outside of each restroom. There are also trash receptacles located throughout the cg loop. When you first enter the cg you'll notice there’s lots of sites in the trees, but as you continue around the loop it will open up and you’ll find meadow areas with campsites. Very nice and open, beautiful in July with wildflowers everywhere. Continue on and you’ll find more sites that are in the trees again. There are a number of sites that can accommodate 40+ motor homes plus a toad. The sites are pretty level, dirt & gravel, mostly back ins. A picnic table and fire ring with grate is provided. It’s so quiet and away from it all. Plenty of room for slide outs and awnings. No bear sightings in the area. We could hear birds but never saw to many. Only spotted a Flicker. Lots of fishing in the lake going on. You can get to the lake by trail, located in the campground or by car in the picnic area. No cell phone service here. We noticed that there was lots of dispersed camping going on up a little further from the campground turnoff (on hwy 64) and just past the campground loop entrance. It’s free, just don’t go trail blazing. This is truly some of the most spectacular country we've been through in a long time.If you need propane, the Chevron Station in Tierra Amarilla fills bottles and motor home tanks. We will stay here again when traveling through New Mexico.

Heron Lake State Park is located at 7,200 ft. off of highway 64 on highway 95, approx. 10 miles in. We stayed in Blanco CG which is one of two loops that have electric and water hookups(54 sites). There were quite a number of first come sites available when we arrived. Most of the sites were back ins but some were pull throughs. Our site was level and very roomy and private, we had plenty of room for our slide outs and awning. Water pressure was very good and we didn’t encounter any problems with the electrical. The roads are dirt/gravel but the sites are more gravel then dirt. We had no cell phone service but was able to get air card service for our computer with our booster antenna. Some of the sites had an overhead shelter, all of the sites had tables and a fire ring/grate. There’s a dump station located before you enter the campground loop on the left. We enjoyed the park and wish we had stayed longer. It was very quiet there and people were respectful of other peoples space. We have an annual camping pass, otherwise we would have had to pay $14.00. We will more then likely return if in the area again.

The only way I can describe this RV campground we stayed in is.... Being stranded on the side of the highway with electricity..... When we arrived we were told that they didn't have any water over the weekend because there was such heavy use. Guess the tank had to refill. This is just too close to the highway. I would NOT bring children to this area. All of the campgrounds in the park are right off of the highway, don't know what they were thinking!! I would pass on this State Park. We left 3 days early and would never go back. There is a campground just before you get into the state park (Santa Fe Nat. Forest) called Black Canyon. This is off of the highway and it looks like they just remodeled the campsites and restrooms. No electric, but there is water located along the interior road. We're 35 ft.(& towing) and there were a few sites that we would have been able to fit into. They also have tent site pads. They are on the reservation system but do have first come sites. At least this would be better then camping on the road.

This is a very spread out State Park with numerous camping sites. The lake is at an elevation of 6,400 ft. There’s a total of 72 sites with 25 having electric and water and they all appeared to be level. The sites have 3 sided shelters on a cement pad with a picnic table and a fire ring close by. There is also primitive camping along the lake with no amenities. The park has a centrally located restroom with showers, and spread around the park are vault toilets. Some of the sites offer shade while others are out in the sun. The lake offers fishing and boating/water skiing with no restrictions on motors. There’s a playground for the kids and lots of grass around the lake, this is a great place for kids. There’s one section of the park that is first come first serve, it is located to the right when you pass the park office. The electric/water sites there (all back ins) are close to the highway and are crammed together. Ask if there are any other sites available and try and avoid that area if possible. There’s another section around the lake that has some first come electric/water sites with a length restriction of 26’. There are also pull-thrus available that are first come and on a reservation system. You can reserve a site 1 day prior to arrival and the charge is $9.95. Located about 1 ½ mi. south of the park is a Super Wal-Mart. We finally found a location where we could fill our motor home propane tank, (Ferrellgas) it’s located at 209 Grand St.,(505) 425-7503. There’s lots of fast food restaurants in the area along with places to dine. Cell phone signal was great, no dropped calls. I imagine it can get very hot here in the summer, we were here in early June and it wasn‘t hot, just windy.. This is the visitors guide (pdf file) that you can download. We found it to be very informative. http://www.lasvegasnm.org/Tourist/visitor_guide.pdf With our annual camping pass this only costs $4.00 for elec/water. Otherwise it would have been $14.00...

This was a nice state park but the electric hookup sites were on top of each other. There was enough room to put our slides out, one on each side and our awning. That’s it!! We found ourselves staring at our neighbors rig when we sat outside. There were about 10 sites lined up side by side. Across the creek were more elec./water (it’s in the group area) sites but you had to ford the stream and we’re too big. The water pressure was just OK and we found no problems with the electric hookups (20/30 amp) You will need a two way hose adapter for the water faucet since you share it with your neighbor. We had reserved a water/electric site for 7 days and left after 2. There are water spigots throughout the park. There was a picnic table below your space with a fire ring. There ‘s absolutely no privacy and everyone had a BIG barking pooping dog and the flies were out in force. One site that was really secluded ( non- electric) was when coming into the park, look to your right and you’l see a dirt road that has a sign that says NO TRAILERS OVER 16 FEET. We drove up the very short road to a great site with water close by. We would have taken our motor home up it if it wasn’t for the low branches and trees that needed to be trimmed close to the side of the road. It had a great shelter there, big space with a fire ring and picnic table. The regular sites are definitely nicer, further apart and lots of space. The restrooms were clean and modern with showers and there was a visitor’s center but there was never anyone there. A pay phone was located outside. There is no cell phone service here. They also have a campground host on site. There are no first come first serve electric sites at this park. If no one has a reservation they will sell the site to you for one night only and then you’l have to go to another site that is vacant. Their reservation system needs work. None of the reservation fees ($9.95) goes to the State Parks. Hwy. 434 that the park is off of leads up to Angel Fire and Eagles Nest and on to Red River. It’s a good road and made for a nice drive, we didn’t encounter any problems along the way.

This campground is located approx. 7 miles west of Red River and 5 miles east of Questa. It’s located in the Carson National Forest and sits at 7,900 ft. There’s a creek that flows through the campground with campsites on either side. Some sites are closer to the creek then others. There are 4 threaded water spigots located along the campground loop. All of the bathrooms are vault toilets, they were always clean!! No showers here…At the top of the loop is the trail head parking with a restroom and a threaded water spigot. There’s plenty of room to fill your water tanks without blocking the road. This is a very pretty campground with nice campsites. Our site (#20) was big enough for our 35’ MH and our tow car. Behind the MH was a little meadow where we were able to get tv satellite reception. We also had cell phone reception here too but no computer reception. The apron’s are asphalt and so is the interior road. The sites were level and very clean. Trash dumpsters are located near the beginning of the campground. The camp host is a real character, if you need information on the area she’s been there for 13 years. The only thing that was a drag was the fly population. There were 3 sizes to pick from and they never left you alone. Bug spray was their drink of choice. After battling them for 6 days we put up our screened room, we were there a total of 14 days which is the stay limit. The town of Red River has a nice market, Der Market. There’s lots to see and do. We would see the llamas being trucked into our campground around 9:00 am and the guide would load provisions on them for day hikes up the trail. Red River also has a visitor center where you can get lots of info on the area. The Carson National Forest Ranger’s Station is located just before entering Questa from the east. There are a few places where you can dump your black water. One being Red River Sewage which is between Red River and Columbine CG. (505) 754-6671, the charge is $8.00. It’s the closest one to the campground. You're allowed to run your gray water next to the trees. We used this campground as home base to explore the “enchanted circle” and would love to return again some day. We were here a little after the middle of June to early July.

Nice state park with nice sites, some being larger then others. Pecos Campground Loop has 12 sites with electric and water and 2 having sewer. Neither site is on the reservation system and one of them is occupied by the camp host. Great water pressure, cell phone service was good, computer speed was SLOW, sites are level with gravel and have good drainage when it rains. Interior Campground road is dirt. Site #3 has a light that comes on after dark and we would sit outside and watch the bats catch insects that were being attracted by the light. Half of the camp sites in Pecos are by reservation, not sure of the others. Mesquite CG is developed but doesn't have electric hookups. Eastside CG has about 6 sites with electric and water and the rest are developed, they are not on the reservation system. Would stay here again.

We had planned on staying here for a week but when we arrived we were surprised to find that most of the first come sites didn't have water. The water is centrally located, meaning you would need about 100 feet of hose with a doubler if you wanted to connect to it. The sites were wide enough to open your slides but not much room to sit outside. There are 2 loops of camp sites. A loop has power and B loop doesn't. There's a dump station and also a playground for the kids. We decided not to stay and went to another State Park.

Conchas Lake has numerous areas to camp. There are 104 developed sites and 41 electric and water sites. The campgrounds are located in various areas of the lake. I believe there’s primitive camping along the shoreline in some areas. The area we stayed in was Bell Point campground which has power and water hookups. Each site has a 3 sided shelter with a picnic table on a concrete slab and a pedestal BBQ near the shelter. It’s very dusty when breezy, interior road is dirt and no one seems to drive slow through the campground. Some sites are closer together then others, some are pull thrus, but most are back ins. ALL sites are on a reservation system which was a pain since there wasn't any cell/internet service there. The gal in the Park Office was nice enough to let me use their phone to make a reservation. If you just need a site for one night and sites are available (the post at each site has a green vacant sign or red occupied sign on them), go to the park office. It’s located further down the main road on the left. There’s a marina with a grocery/tackle shop/lounge/diner. There’s also a phone booth outside which we needed to use since it was Mother’s Day. Weekends are very busy but midweek was quiet. Nice views of the lake and surrounding area. You might want to use your water pump when showering, pressure wasn’t that great. While there we saw people boating, fishing and water skiing. Dump Station is located across from the campground entrance. Make sure you‘re stocked up with food since the closest town is in Tucumcari, which is about 35 miles away. We would stay here again but only midweek.

Beautiful State Park located approx. 20 miles off of the I- 40 on hwy 3 in a narrow canyon with the Pecos River running through it. River was very silty (brown) but enjoyed the sound of the water. Some of the sites are close together , some have shelters and some don’t. Reservations are accepted, book early as this is a very popular park. Nice to see trees again after spending the last 10 weeks in New Mexico’s southern regions. Elevation here is 5,600 ft. No cell phone service. No problem getting a signal for our satellite TV. There are 12 electric sites with water nearby, ( long hose a must ) the rest are developed sites with water throughout the campground. The road is paved but the sites are either dirt, gravel or grass. Got to be a little dusty when windy but not too bad. Most of the sites appear to be level, some are in the trees and others are more out in the open. Water pressure was OK, and the electric hookup was fine. We had no problems finding room for our slideouts and tow vehicle. There was one tree branch when entering the Park we found to be a little low so be on the look out. Otherwise, there were no problems getting around and into a site. Most of the sites are roomy enough. The hiking trail starts on the other side of the footbridge which takes you to the canyon overlook. Fishing is year round, with best time to fish being in the Fall - Spring, and they do stock the river. Check the state park website for more info. They have a brochure you can download. There is a playground for the kids and a dump station which my husband said he didn’t even want to try and get into. It seems that this dump site was up on a hill with a steep drop off. We found a convenience store in the middle of town and a post office. Park rangers were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the park immensely until the weekend when thoughtless campers came in and blasted their music and couldn’t build a fire to save their lives. We were choking in the smoke. Wish someone would teach campfire 101.… We would return but probably mid week and in March or April..

Very nice park with great views from every direction. Very good water pressure, excellent cell & air card reception (Verizon), level sites (gravel & dirt) with paved roads. No problems with the electric. Located about 9 miles south of Alamogordo off of hwy 54. Very quiet here at night and during the day. There are a few hiking trails going up into Dog Canyon. Alamogordo has a Walmart Supercenter that was well stocked. The $4.00 we paid was because we purchased an annual camping pass($225.00 out of state, good for 12 months from date of purchase). They charge $4.00 for electric and another $4.00 if there's sewer. Otherwise it would have been $14.00. We stayed here for a week and would stay here again.

This is a very nice quiet state park with the best water pressure we’ve ever had at a park. Our cell phone reception was good but my aircard for our computer was iffy, (Verizon) The town of Carlsbad has an Albertson’s Market and a Super Walmart that we found to be well stocked. The park is close to the Living Desert Zoo & Gardens State Park which is an indoor/outdoor living museum ($5.00 per adult ) displaying more than 40 native animal species and hundreds of succulent plants from around the world. It’s a 1.3 mile self-guided tour which is a leisurely walk through various habitats. http://www.emnrd.state.nm.us/PRD/LivingDesert.htm Directly across from the entrance to Brantley Lake is the road leading to Sitting Bull Falls which is about 30 miles in. You will be traveling near some of the oil fields and there is a nasty smell every now and then. There are numerous picnic shelters, a modern restroom, drinking fountains and a very short walk to the falls. This is maintained by Lincoln National Forest and there is a fee of $5.00 per vehicle(half price if you hold a Golden Age Pass). We know they will take you on a guided tour of the caves that are behind the falls but you must call ahead. http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/lincoln/recreation/caves.shtml We spent a week at Brantley and really enjoyed ourselves.

Spent a week here and enjoyed our stay. The pond was being drained to find a leak and repair it before they filled it with catfish and other species. If you plan on fishing call the park first to see if it's been repaired and filled. Very quiet park and was happy to see large trees at the first come sites. Spent about a week here while waiting for a package to arrive that was being delivered in care of the park. Very nice park rangers and staff. Trash cans are at each site so you don't get a big garbage truck in the campground jarring you awake in the morning. Cell phone service was good but air card for computer was iffy (Verizon but we were roaming). There is a Super Wal-Mart in Portales that we found to be well stocked and their Gas Station. It's located on the other side of the 70 going across the road staying on Oasis Rd.,located on the right. We would stay here again.

I would have given this campground a 10 if it wasn't so noisy on the weekend. Day use across the lake was filled with cars blasting music for hours. Rangers asked them to turn down volume but it fell on deaf ears. There are a few sewer hookups near the camp host and thoses are probably the sites with 50 amp power. We were in 27 which is across from the lake and had water & 20 & 30 amp hookups. It rained hard while we were there and a few hours afterwards there was a very strange smell. Never did figure out what it was. We would stay here again but NOT on a weekend.

This is a wagon wheel shaped campground. All back ins facing various views. Great cell/aircard reception (Verizon). Good water pressure and no problems with the electric. There is an extra charge of $2.00 a day if you use your air or elec. heaters. Easy walk to town. Entrance to the park is within the parking area for the Queen Mine Tour which made it difficult when the mine tour was let out. We would stay here again.

Stayed here last year and enjoyed our stay. The only thing that's changed is that they now have cable/sat. TV and now have wifi throughout the park. Price for wifi, $5.00 a day. Good cell phone and aircard (Verizon) service. Aircard here VERY fast so found no need for wifi, which I think is over priced! Had a problem with one of our slides and asked for motor specs to be faxed to the office. They charged $1.00 per page, must have been very special paper!! Park is still very clean, and they offer a Sunday pancake breakfast. Only thing that was different this year was the water pressure. Wasn't as good as last year.

Nice State Park with good space between camp sites. Very interesting museum with a great film about Pancho Villa's raid. Right next door (to the east) of the museum is the Customs House which houses a book exchange and a video library. Good water pressure, no problems with the electric. We had cell/aircard reception (Verizon) and no trees in the way for our satellite dish. There is a little grocery store just east (hwy 9) of the park. Park staff was very friendly! We would stay here again.

Very nice park, clean and staff here were very friendly and helpful. This is located in the city with all the noise of sirens, cars and train whistles. Cell / Aircard reception was very good. If you don't mind the noise then you will like this park. Water pressure was ok, no problem with electric. There's a book exchange here along with laundry facilities. They also accept Passport America here for a 2 day stay. Don't think we would stay here again unless it was in a pinch.

Not a bad place for an overnighter. Friendly staff, nice big wide pull-throughs, great water pressure. We had cell service but never used their wifi so can't say if it's improved. Only drawback is the truck traffic on the 85, it's going day and night. We would stay here again but at the back of the park in a back-in next time.

This is a very nice state park. Loved the trees and the water noise coming over the spillway. All of the sites are pull thrus which are along side of the main dirt road inside the park. This park now has 15 sites that are available thru reservations ($10.00 fee). If you plan on spending at least a month in the state parks you should look into buying their annual camping pass http://www.emnrd.state.nm.us/PRD/FeesPermits.htm it’s well worth the money. There’s a very nice playground away from the main section of the park. It’s located in the tent/non-electric area that runs along the river. Cell phone reception (Verizon) was lousy even with our booster but for some reason my air card was fine (using our booster). There is a laundromat at the RV park that is next door to the state park turn off and a small little grocery store south of the park in Arrey. Very quiet here at night, no trains or loud traffic noise. The water pressure was good and we had no problems with the electric. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here after arriving at Catalina State Park to find that they were full. The gal at the state park booth told us to try this campground which is about 5 miles further north. At first glance we were leery but we were both tired and just wanted to stop for the night. The park is dirt with the sites having enough room to put out slides and park your toad. The water pressure was very good and we had no problems with the electric. While in the office I noticed 2 washers and a dryer. We only saw 6 pull thrus which were located towards the back of the park. It proved to be quieter there without traffic noise at night. This is a very old park and I'm sure it's seen better days, but it was fine for an overnight stay. It was close to shopping and propane (Rancher's Supply, lots of cafes and restaurants nearby I found there was cell/aircard service. Not a destination but would stop again if we had to.

This State Park is located about 20 miles north of Las Cruces approximately 1 mile off of hwy 25. There are 2 campground loops, Grease wood & Cactus Patch. Grease wood sites, 1-14 have 8 non-reserve able elec/water sites, 1 being handicapped accessible,($14.00) the rest are $10.00 All of the sites have a very nice shelter with a cement floor and large picnic table. The RV pads are also cement and there is a fire ring. Some of the sites are more private then the others but there is plenty of room for slides, awning and to park your car. This campground has vault toilets which were very clean. There are train tracks that are nearby and you can hear it although it was not a problem sleeping at night. The campground is very quiet and has lovely views of the surrounding area. Cactus Patch Loop Campground sites 15-24 are all water and electric with 6 sites being reserve able.. This area is more child friendly, having a nice playground area. There are modern clean bathrooms with 3 private shower stalls, 1 being handicap accessible on the women’s side I would assume the men’s side too. There is a vending machine dispensing soda pop and across the street is the Park office. The train tracks are very close to this loop, so beware. Below Cactus Patch Loop is a trail that takes you down to the waters edge. There are day use facilities ($5.00) and also a picnic day use area near the Park Office. Both campgrounds RV sites appeared to be level. The roads are all dirt and gravel. Good cell/aircard reception, (Verizon) , the water pressure was just ok, and there were no problems with the electric, 30 amp. Dump station is located in the park. We would have no problem staying here again .

Located in the Los Padres Natl. Forest off of the San Marcos Pass road (hwy. 154) then East at Paradise Rd. THIS CAMPGROUND IS NOT BIG RIG FRIENDLY. We're 35' and there is a tight squeeze between 2 trees.....Not for the faint of heart!! Nice campground with plenty of shade in the summer. Weekends are nuts but during the week it stays pretty quiet. Very close to the Santa Ynez river, (across the road). Red Rock day use area (further up Paradise Rd.) is great for the kids to swim and float on rafts. Many areas along the river to picnic and find swimming holes. Have been coming to this area for over 40 years and really enjoy time here. Wild turkeys wander in and out of the campsites looking for a handout. Water spigots throughout the campground and they have bathrooms. There is normally a campground host here. There's a store at the beginning of Paradise Rd. where they serve food and you can eat outside. Ice, Beer, groceries, the normal stuff you might run out of while camping. Buy gas in Santa Barbara but if you need to fill up there's Cachuma Lake Co. Park or the town of Solvang to the north.

I spoke with the General Manager in the morning and told him we wanted to use our Passport America and that we probably would want to stay through the weekend. He said they weren't accepting it anymore but he would go ahead and honor it anyway. When we arrived, 4 hours later the woman at the desk didn't know anything about it... She called the manager and he said to give us the first night at half price and the rest of the nights at $33.00 as long as we stayed another 3 days. I told her that's not what was agreed to that he never mentioned only one night. Needless to say, we felt really burned... We were told that this place has been sold and they are closing down the park on Oct. 29th... Wasn't impressed at all with this place. We were told there were plenty of campsites in the morning and when we got here they stuck us in the ghetto (J loop)because it was the only site left. It was full of old trailers, cars, cats and dogs running around. The sites are very tight and I don't think they could cram them in any tighter! I'm giving this a 3, a point each for water, power, sewer...

The fairgrounds RV area is located at the back of the fairgrounds off of Aston Ave. This turned out to be a great place to stay while we loaded up food and gas from Costco which is only a few minutes away. It's nothing special, no tables or grass areas, just dirt and gravel pull thrus. The sites were level, the power was fine, water pressure wasn't the greatest but adequate. There are a few trees in the park but not a lot of shade. If the rv park is full there is no room for awnings or slides, it is really tight. We were here during mid week and there were only a handful of motorhomes. They accept Passport America here otherwise the daily rate is $20.00. There is a gate at the entrance to the rv park and there is someone patrolling the area at night. The horse stalls are across the street from the park and when the wind shifts, it's a bit horsey but not too bad. We would stay here again when in the area.

Laundry room has 4 washers and 8 dryers, very clean with a folding table and hooks for your clothes hangers. This park is located about 17 miles north of down town Reno and was very quiet. Will stay again when traveling through the Reno area.

We've stayed at this campground twice and have always enjoyed our stay. There are a few sites right next to the lake and the others are only about 100 feet away. They run specials during the off season, and still stay busy with bass tournaments that are always going on. There's 6 small cabins in the park too. Laundry facilities were very clean and the staff was very helpful. Cable tv (65 channels) is offered, but we used our sat. instead. Across the street from the park is a fast food place with outside tables, and next door to that is a bar that features live music on Fri. and Sat. night. Quiet at night and after going around most of the lake we found that this was the nicest RV park on the lake. We will go back again if in the area.

We love camping and not having to stay in rv parks where you are lined up side by side and never feeling like you have any privacy. This is camping at its best. Full hookups and loads of privacy. It's off season and there's only a few people here. The weather is wonderful, and the rates are cheap, 5 days for $125.00... The deer are everywhere along with the turkeys and quail. This is the second time we have stayed here this time of the year and we will be back!!!

This rv park is more like a campground. It is very rustic and there appeared to be quite a few full timers there. The people that we met and the camp host were very friendly and helpful. The sites are big enough for awnings and slides, there is a very nice pool area and recreation hall with a patio. There is also a gas station/ mini mart and they have Propane too. They also had an area that you can park and check or add air to your tires. The water pressure was good and we had no problem with the electricity. This park was very quiet people wise but not so train and traffic wise. The trains run day and night, although once asleep it didn't bother us.

Laguna Seca Rec. Area has 2 campgrounds with electric and water hook-ups. The larger of the 2 is directly to the left when entering thru the pay station and the other is to the right a little farther up. This rec area has a pistol/ rifle range away from the campgrounds and the race track (road Course) which is very close to the campgrounds where you can watch the cars on the track. I think the quieter of the 2 is the larger campground on the left near the back of the loop. The track is very busy most of the time with a driving school so if you don’t want the noise, this isn’t for you if you just want to sit outside and read. The sites come in various spur lengths and there is room for slides and an awning. The water pressure was great and we had no problems with the electrical. There is a dump station with one sewage drain. We chose this area since it was centrally located to Pt. Lobos, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Carmel Mission, and the shops and restaurants of Carmel…. At night is was very quiet and you can hear the owls hooting at each other. Reservations are accepted for a $5.00 fee. Hook-up sites are $30.00, with a $2.00 discount if over 62. Non hookups are $22.00. We would return again but only during mid week when it’s quieter.

I've been camping here for the last 35 years (either in a tent and now a class A) and love it. It's in the redwoods and there's about 9 miles of nature trails and areas along the Eel River to fish. The sites are all paved and they say the Max. RV length is 30' but we're 35' and had no problems finding a spot. It's beautiful here and you don't get as much traffic noise. In the summer you appreciate being so deep in the trees, it really keeps the temperatures down. They have wifi here, but you need to be no more than 150 - 200 ft. from the Ranger Station. I've used it before and didn't have any problems. This is a great State Park!!

This is a Passport America RV park, so we paid half price. We were here after Labor Day and not on a weekend. I can see where this would be a great place for a family since there is a nice pool and a play area with swings with lots of green grass. The large RV sites are gravel and dirt but mostly level. The tenting area is located under oak trees with plenty of shade. There were picnic tables but I didn't notice any fire rings. It was a quiet RV park and a nice change from the noise of the trucks on the interstate. The park is located approx. 6 miles from the I-5 in a rural area. Didn't notice any people staying there full time, although with Passport America this RV park is limited to 28 days, except for holidays. There was no cell phone service but we were able to use our satellite dish for tv.

This is a very nice State Park with a store and laundry facilities. Fairly roomy sites although we didn't have any privacy like you can have in some campgrounds. There was no road noise which was nice. The sites in the N loop were back-ins with only tall trees between sites. Lots of things to see in the area and a good area to shop if you need to stock up. There's a Costco in Warrenton with great gas prices, Fred Meyers is just down the street with good prices too. I would have given this a 10 if there had been some sort of barrier between sites. There's a 7 mile hiking trail with 10 beautiful waterfalls to visit. A 4 mile bike path and 25 miles of trails for horses, hiking, or mountain bikes. Horse rentals are available during the summer. The sites were very roomy, plenty of room for our rv and our toad. We were able to get a satellite signal for our dish but unable to use our cell phones (Verizon). This is a first come first serve state park campground with 45 full hookups and can accomodate up to 60 feet. It is a very pretty little park with lots of trees and ground cover. The sites can accomodate RV's with slides and awnings, there's plenty of room. There's a creek on the east end of the park and walking trails. The Bonneville Dam is nearby where they have tours and there are a number of waterfalls in the area. The only draw back to this campground is that it's located too close to the I-84 and the train tracks. You can hear the roar of the traffic and the train whistles day and night. This is a Mount Hood National Forest Service campground and we really enjoyed our stay. It is located approximately 9 miles east of Government Camp on hwy. 26 and about a 2 miles off of the highway on a paved road. Stay on Forest Route 2630/220, don't turn right until you get to the campground. We were there after Labor Day and there were only a few people camping. The campsites next to the lake are $18.00 and the others are $16.00 a night. There is water but it's a hand pump. Vault toilets are provided and were clean. The elevation is 3600 ft. so it did get cold at night. Very busy on holidays and weekends but, you can make reservations through www.reserveamerica.com If the campground had pressure water so we could have filled our tank we would have stayed longer and I would have given it a 10. This is a very busy campground during the summer. You will need to have reservations or get there very early. We were here after Labor Day and it had turned into a first come first served campground until next Memorial Day. It was very quiet and we really enjoyed ourselves. We have stayed here in the summer before and found it to be too busy, plus it was smoky and there was quite a bit of road noise. There are numerous activities that the park hosts each day. There's swimming, fishing, boating and it's a huge lake. 106 full hookup, 72 electrical, 133 tent (maximum site 60 feet), 82 boat slips. All of the sites are roomy and some are rather private. The park has a small gift shop/ice available there. In the town of Detroit which is about a mile away, there are restaurants, fishing tackle stores, a grocery store, gift shops and a post office. We stayed here for almost a week and really enjoyed ourselves especially since it was so warm. Hot days and beautiful nights. The lake is only about 200-300 feet from the campsites. There are a number of very sheltered sites that provide a wind block during windy days. The spurs are asphalt but the area where you sit is dirt. There are fire rings and picnic tables. Lots of boating, fishing and swimming going on when we were there. The Feather River Salmon Hatchery is close by and they are open to the public. Very interesting watching the salmon climb the ladders on their way into the hatchery. Sheriff cruises through a few times a day to check on things. Quiet at night, no road noise. Rates are $19.00 or $17.00 if 62 or older.

Their are two sections of this park. The lower section where you first come into the park and the other being up the hill. Both are very nice with the upper cg having some lake views. The lower section being more larger rig friendly. There's hiking trails and fishing/swimming here. They have wifi within 150-200 ft. from the Rangers Station. This is a beautiful well maintained State Park. It was the perfect place to stay while exploring the area and right on the road (504) that takes you to all of the visitors centers for Mt. St. Helens. There is an area of the park that has 16 full hook-ups, it's located in the T 1-16 section. There are 18 sites that have water and electric hook-ups and the rest are without utilities. We stayed here 4 days and found it to be quite enjoyable. Some of the campsites are a bit close, but there are some that are tucked up in the trees and more private. We were unable to get a satellite signal in but, it looked as though it wouldn't be a problem in the full hook-up area since there were fewer trees there. If you are traveling without reservations get there by noon as the hook-up sites go fast. We were here midweek and were offered a full hook-up but chose the water and electric site instead. The laundry facility has 2 washer and dryers and the room was very clean. I would give this park a 10 if it wasn't for the hwy. noise, but we would stay here again in a heart beat!! We stayed in 2-3 which is a beautiful lush green camp site with wildflowers everywhere. This area is located to the right of the pay station but be careful, there is no room to turn around if you are towing a car. I would walk it first to make sure that you will be able to get out ok. There is water and garbage service. This campground would be heaven if it wasn't so close to the highway but we did find that the road noise calmed down around 9pm. You can take on water near the picnic area which is on the right when you first come into the campground. You will need a water thief since the spigot is not threaded. Skamokawa Vista Park lies along the Columbia River. The campground has 34 sites with hookups, nine for tents or RVs and four tent-only sites. There’s also a playground, playing field and basketball and tennis courts. There are 2 sections here. An upper loop section to the right, and the section along the river. We found it to be pretty "rustic" and well used. When the wind comes up and cars drive along the dirt road expect lots of dust!! Our car looked like a cinnamon cookie after 2 days. The prices vary as to what type of "accommodations" you choose. $23.00 full hookup, $21.00 electric only, standard site $19.00, tent site $16.00 and satellite tv $2.00 if it's at the full hookup site. This was a good place to spend the night but wouldn't consider it a destination campground. It does offer fishing and there is a beach area along the river, it was just too cold and windy. There are loads of blackberries in the park so we made a pie and stayed warm inside. There are no showers or laundry facilities here and the only time the grass is green is in the rainy season. We were in site #2 and had 3 trees next to us which gave us more room than some of the other sites. There are only 6 utility sites and the rest are standard. The dump station is located just outside the park going north. This is a first come first serve park and if you get here by 2pm midweek you shouldn't have a problem getting in. They list the length limit at 30 feet but we're 35' and towing and had no problem getting in and parking our car(site # 11). The interior road is dirt/gravel and very dusty when a car drives by. We were here on a friday early afternoon and there were only a few people camping. By Saturday afternoon the place was full with people speeding in and out of the campground. There is no garbage service here but they do have water. We only noticed one restroom and that was located at the end of the campground loop. One kitchen shelter without electricity is available to campers. There are 2 loops with the utility sites near the entrance of the park. The other loop offers campsites next to the river. This campground is well maintained and very pretty and lush. Some sites are very private while others are more out in the open. The town of Forks is located 6 miles north and has a great grocery store with an Ace Hardware store next door. There is also a laundramat and car wash along with other local businesses. There are a number of restaurants including Italian, Mexican,Chinese, and a busy burger joint. We found this to be a great campground and would stay here again. The sites are very large and roomy with great views of the golf course. The pool facilities were very nice and the laundry room was spotless. The only thing that spoiled our time there was that we were awakened at 7am to the sound of these huge lawn mowers, weedwackers, and leaf blowers in the rv section of the park. Since it had nothing to do with maintaining the golf course we couldn't understand why they would start so early in the morning! We were here during the big heat wave and the breeze off the water and the shade from the trees helped keep us cool. The campsites have nice tables and firerings. The road is paved and was wide enough to maneuver while towing our jeep. This campground was a real treat and best of all there was hardly anyone here! This campground is on the Reserve America reservation system, but 9 out of the 20 sites are non-reservable. We would definitely camp here again.

This a a wonderful little campground with fairly large spurs. It is listed under Coleville National Forest and is about 27 miles East of Republic. We're 35' and fit (site # 6) just fine and were able to T bone the jeep in front of the coach. You can hear traffic during the day but by 9pm we found it to be quiet so you can get a good nights sleep. There are huckleberries everywhere in this campground. We picked enough to make a sweetened puree to go on our pancakes the next morning. On the opposite side of the loop from the pay station is a small creek with lush vegetation. We didn't see a trash dumpster or a water spigot which didn't matter since we just needed a place to spend the night. We would stop here again.

This state park has 3 sections of camp sites. There is a large green park like area where we saw tents, another area is in the pines with rv parking and tent sites. This area has numerous sites but only about 10 hookups with a restroom and showers. Further up the road is Alta Lake with tent sites along the lake and rv hookups above them. We opted for the pines since the rv sites at the lake were more like being in a VERY tight parking lot. Didn't see any awnings or slides out and I doubt it was even possible. People were on the lake water skiing, riding jet skis and in other areas, fishing.. There is a store there that carries food, ice, and fishing tackle. Might go back during the off season. That rate listed is for a utility site and there is also a dump station there.

This is a well maintained campground with wide enough gravel pads to put out your awning and slides. The sites are a little close to each other but we found that most people were gone during the day boating/fishing. There is drinking water available and dumpsters spaced out within the loop. There is a campground host here year round. This is a Forest Service Campground and they do take the Goleden Age Pass which must be displayed on your dashboard or in your window along with your camping permit. Most of the sites have a good view of the lake. They all come with picnic tables, fire ring and Ramadas. There is a limit of 32" but we were able to fit our 35" Motorhome in without any problems. The dump station is located 10 mi. North on SR188 at milepost 249 across from the Cholla Recreation Site. We enjoyed our visit
